time off work for re op
I had cc and had revision op on Dec. Just realised I have only got 9 days holiday left til sept as I used 2.5 weeks of leave over Xmas for my re op. Do I think I should have pushed for sick leave? Would I have been entitled to it?

Your surgeon would have been able to sign you off as sick leave

Your GP would've been able to give you a fit to work note. Don't imagine they'd back date it for you though?

Hmm...TECHNICALLY there is an employment law that the states if you fall ill during booked holiday, you can claim those days back. I'm talking signed off broken leg sort of thing. BUT seeing as you didn't claim for it at the time, I'd be highly doubtful you can back date it.

Good point Charlii, but your right in thinking the GP wouldn't issue anything this late on and you can't claim back annual leave without the sick note.
I'm planning sick leave for my re-op but I'm double checking my GP will cover it, he did before for my first re-op but always good to be sure. Xx
