Swelling... Empty Swelling...

Is it normal for swelling to reduce then flare up again? I felt much less 'tight' this morning but tonight I feel really tight and uncomfortable again! I am up and about doing stuff (nothing strenuous just reading to the kids playing games with them etc, not lifted a finger round the house or getting them ready etc so I know I haven't over done it. Or maybe from simply being out of bed I have overdone it? I don't know, what do you think?

I am day 3 post op. (Uplift, implant and nipple revision)

At 3 days post id say your swelling hasn't yet finished. The simplest of strain, pulling up trousers, stretching etc can cause a bit more swelling as you've got so much healing going on. Keep moisturising your skin, stay away from incision, and continue to take it easy. I did literally nothing for 4 days, had a broken toe to heal as well., which have me more jip than my boobs lol xx

Ok can't put anything on them as they are totally strapped up, can't get to any of the skin... :-( will just take it as easy as I can and hope it goes down soon...can't wait for my 1 week post op appointment to have a good look!

Even the smallest of stretches can be overdoing it at this stage. It'll also settle, which is why you get morning boob. Its all normal though. Drunk plenty of fluids and be sure to sleep head above shoulders to help drain it.

I noticed if I over done it mine swelled the next day. Take it easy, I no you said that you haven't done hardly nothing but you have had major surgery so defo take it easy. Like charlii said make sure you sleep upright this help with swelling. I also put ice pack on top of mine ( nowhere near the incisions. I no you said there is no skin but could you put the ice pack on top of the strap. Xxxx

Day 3 and 4 were the worst days for swelling and overall happiness for me. Obviously do not over do it, as tempting as it is.. I done a load of washing after 1 weeks PO and ached for days!

Swelling is a common affect of surgery, best thing for it is to keep on top of meds, rest ALOT, and maybe try ice packs to reduce swelling.

I hope you start to feel better soon  xx
