I hAve the silimed furrys.
Panicking slightly!
Any idea what might happen to people like me if they are recalled?

That's worrying! I'm supposed to be having these implanted for my BA tomorrow. I'm going to contact my PS and clinic as soon as they open this morning.

Be careful of any media spin you may read on the story. It is worrying but don't panic and perhaps keep in contact with your clinics whilst the investigations take place.

Re: Silimed suspended in uk!
Anything you read in the papers is going to be inflammatory and scaremongering. This is NOT in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM like the pips incident. Pips were being made with industrial grade silicone. The story here is that during a routine inspection, there was 'contaminates' on the manufacturing floor. 'Contaminates' sounds worrying...but it could just be dust. The fact remains that when you were implanted, these implants were CE marked, and did comply with European Regulatory Standards. They have done the best thing possible by taking them off the shelf while they investigate further, and see whether a recall is necessary.
Please please dont panic - that is exactly what the papers want you to do. Try and stick with the facts on the gov.uk site. We here will watch the story, and try to post updates in the 'Cosmetic News' section.

Re: Silimed suspended in uk!
Ladies I have signed up to the MHRA to receive updates on this issue directly from them. I will post any and all that I receive. Both BAAPS and BAPRAS are working closely with them to fully investigate. If you are worried or have questions, consult your surgeon or clinic directly.

Re: Silimed suspended in uk!
I have emailed my clinic and had the following reply.
The implants haven’t actually been recalled it’s just that they have suspended the use of them pending investigation.
The contamination relates to the packaging (not the actual implant) of the textured implants of which Mrs Kat does not use.
She uses the “coated” implants.
Now the FDA in America have completed a full investigation and have recommenced using all Silimed implants.
It is likely that it will happen over here soon but we are always a little more slower than the States.
What this means to you, well there is no problem or concerns relating to your implants that you have.
My mind is much more at ease now!
Hope this helps for any other furry ladies xx

Re: Silimed suspended in uk!
Hello ladies - just a quick update. I have decided to postpone by BA tomorrow but I really don't want to worry anyone who has these implants. I'm going to write a new post to explain :-) x

Re: Silimed suspended in uk!
Thanks blush. Let's remember that this is a PR thing, and to take it with a little salt, but I think it's safe to say that all previously implanted girls are safe. As soon as I get notification they're back on the market, i'll let you all know
