Mario Russo suspended?

Can't believe this!! seems that Mr Russo has been suspended and all his patients are being re-arranged to have ops with different surgeons. Just another huge ridiculous problem to add to my journey! what on earth?!
Looks like I wont be having my consultation or op with him after all this!!! I may as well have gone with a different surgeon from the start and it probably wouldve been all done by now!!
Great thing to find out when I start my new job in an hour! xx

Did your patient co-ordinator give you this information Laura?

no she didnt it was one of the moderators on the companys forum. my PCC just confirmed it there on the phone.
Ive actually just booked a consultation with Mr Traynor on the 11th and she's checking if I can have surgery on the 13th! If I change my mind I can obvs cancel in the mean time xx

This explains all the stalling then doesn't it babe Glad you're happy with the arrangement made for you now and hopefully things will go smoothly from here on in. xx

here is what the MYA mod said:

"We are sorry to say that Dr Russo has had his practicing privileges with MYA Cosmetic Surgery Limited suspended following the General Medical Council suspending his GMC registration.

This relates to a fitness to practice matter pre-dating his working relationship with MYA. This means that Dr Russo cannot carry out any consultations, clinical reviews or perform any surgical procedures.

The GMC have taken this temporary measure whilst a full investigation is carried out. This could take a number of months. We will be contacting all patients over the coming days to explain how this will affect them and what we will be doing to help.

Given that a GMC investigation is underway we cannot allow this formal process to be compromised and therefore cannot allow any conversations or speculation to be made on this forum. Any references to this matter will therefore be immediately deleted.

When I started reading your post I was gonna say I'm sorry to hear this, but it sounds like your happier now with the new arrangements so I will say congrats on booking instead. x

Glad your op has now been sorted, but I think it has been good luck rather than bad that you now dont have to have a surgeon that is "not fit for practice" I think you have had a lucky escape there hun, so luck is on your side.

I am glad I have seen this post as I know someone who is due to have this surgeon! Doesn't sound good at all but on the up side congratulations on your newly booked date and surgeon and hope all goes fantastic for you! xx

That means it was something before he started working for MYA, anyone know how long he's worked for MYA? I wonder how long ago this issue goes back? It could be something minor but the GMC have to take everything very seriously, it could even be a patient making trouble for him, would be interested to know, but the hearings can take months.

I've realised today that I'm gonna have to change my op date again!! lol. My parents are away on the date Ive booked and I cant be travelling down the country a day and a half with the dog left by herself in the house lol. There's no one else to look after her. Hopefully gonna get the 18th so I can still go to my friends engagement party the weekend before too. phew!x

Dogs eh! I've just had the same dilemma sorting my mutts out around my daughter so I can go on my jollies 'cos I wont put them in Kennels lol.
