Stretch marks?
Just wondering on what the likelihood is of getting stretch marks after a BA?
I was a 34B before kids, 36E when BF'ing and now I'm an empty 32B. I'm hoping that since my skin has already stretched so much that I won't get any.
Anyone got them since BA or know anyone that has?
xx

Re: Stretch marks?
Completely not the same thing but I'm going by your theory too. I only got stretch marks with my first baby on my tummy and didn't with the others which I assumed was because it had already stretched once. So I'm guessing our boobies will be safe from new stripes! Xx

Re: Stretch marks?
Hi, I think you either have this type of skin or you haven't. Some girls get stretch marks some don't. I think if you haven't got much skin there before your ba then your more likely to get them. Moisturising helps a little, but I think if your going to get them you will any way. I don't hear a lot of girls on here getting them though. Xxxx

Re: Stretch marks?
I agree - I think if you didn't get stretch marks from breast feeding then you should be fine with a BA unless you are going a lot bigger obviously. I've got a few stretch marks from the breastfeeding so I'm sure they will remain after my BA - but secretly hoping that stretched out stretch marks will look better!!! x

Re: Stretch marks?
Yes I would imagine that when they are stretched out it looks better. I'm lucky enough not to have them, but a lot of girls do and it's just one of those things. After a while they fade anyway xxx

Re: Stretch marks?
They're one of those things you just can't predict. Either you'll get them or you won't. If you're prone to them, then it's more likely. I would think there is truth in 'pre-stretched' skin, you're just filling it out. But on the other end of the spectrum, I was flat as pancakes, and I got none. So you just can't tell. Start moisturising them to keep the skin supple and reduce the risk. But they're they're fact of life I'm afraid.

Re: Stretch marks?
Hi. I got a lot of stretch marks from breast feeding and they look so much better since having my BA. No new ones so I think your theory is possibly correct. Xx

Re: Stretch marks?
Yes exactly. I must say the deep stretch marks are still visible but look better than before and the smaller less deep stretch marks are barely noticeable. Best of luck and your experience will be great xx

Re: Stretch marks?
Thanks ladies good to know. I got terrible stretch marks with puberty all down my hips, thighs, legs and then not a single one on my tummy during either pregnancy.
Think I'll slather on the bio oil well before BA just in case!

Re: Stretch marks?
I've actually started bio-oiling up already. I figured if it works for pregnancy then it's got to work for this too! Can't hurt right?! Xxx

Re: Stretch marks?
Bio oil is good but I would say expensive when baby oil or a good moisturiser will do the same. Just don't put it near your incisions once your ba is done xxx

Re: Stretch marks?
Totally agree with anneritchley re after BA. PS advised at 4 week post op I could massage oil in but my right incision has defiantly not healed enough yet and I'm almost 6 weeks. Xx

Re: Stretch marks?
Yeah I would only use it before BA and then use something natural for the scarring afterwards (when allowed to).
I know Bio Oil is expensive but so pleased to not get any marks during pregnancy I'd be scared to not use it now (even though I know the science of stretch marks occurring deeper than oil penetrates etc etc).
