Really dry skin on incisions Empty Really dry skin on incisions

Hey guys,
So my incisions are really dry and flakey. They feel really tight when I move around, like if you wash your face with soap and water and it feels so tight and sore ! It's like that.
I am 3 weeks post op. Can I put anything on them yet, some kind of oil? Bio oil maybe or is it too early?

It feels so minging. Reckon a good oil would help but just unsure if its a 6 week thing?

You should have received explicit instructions from you're clinic re moisturising your incisions. I know THG is 4wk, but 6 is a general rule. There is still the possibility of a microscopic hole in the scar, so adding moisture to it can encourage infection. We've actually had 2girls recently who's nurse (and I want to be clear this is the nurse, not the surgeon) who have told the girls to moisturise at 2wks ish, and both ended up with nasty infections. So while it's uncomfortable, don't be tempted. Call your surgeon and check first.

Thanks hun. I rang and she asked me if the incisions  were healed, I was like er...don't think so?
Then heard someone in back piping up, Yeh should be fine.

So no. I'm not touching them!
See my surgeon in 2 weeks, I think I will let him be the judge.

Ohh err, if the lady on the telephone doesnt even know I would insist you hear back from the surgeon. The surgeon can always drop you a quick call at the end of the day surely?

I had tapes on mine for pretty much the 3 month mark and only now been able to moisturize. And I'm using a rich vitamin oil and not normal moisturizer. Your skin will be dry because you're wearing tight sports bra's day and night which doesnt allow the skin to really breathe properly (mine went the same). I found Palmers coco butter really good (avoiding incisions) xxx

Thanks Blush, yeh as if im going to just go with a 'yeh should be fine'!!?
Nope....

I am braless throughout my recovery, don't have a crease under bust so ps wanted me braless to encourage the implant to drop and form a crease line. But I feel really dry allover my breasts really. Hey ho, I can wait. Not worth the hassle of an infection that's for sure...

You can moisturise the breast, you'll get a lot of dry dead skin come away all round your breasts and sides from the swelling. So long as you avoid the incision, everywhere else is fine, in fact I'd encourage it! But yes, I'd wait the extra 2wk to see your surgeon to be honest.

When you're allowed to put stuff on them i'd recommend Heal Gel - it's a bit pricey but it's a miracle product! & actually formulated by plastic surgeons xx
