Pre op information

Hi everyone. I was just looking for some information on what sort of things are required pre op? Such as swabs, blood tests, obtaining copies of medical history, GP etc?

I just had to fill out a big long form about my medical history, I had some swabs done (mouth and nose I think it was) and they weighed me and did my blood pressure, oh and a urine sample, that's about it really. I know some ladies had blood tests too. Really nothing to worry about though x

Hi yes it can differ but can be swabs 2 blood tests, weight, blood pressure, urine sample, past medical history. Xxxx

Differs clinic to clinic. Some take all the above as standard, some will only swab for mrsa if you've been an inpatient in the last year. I was with THG and just had to fill a medical form, urine sample, and my last blood pressure reading, no bloods or swabs. But it's nothing scary.
