First post so please bare with me wavey ...
Considering a BA in April time, researched online and have decided I want to go for 340cc unders. This will hopefully take me from my small 32a to a full C / small D cup. Wanted to know if anyone has had experiences with haggling prices and best place to go? Also stories about your experiences. Have £2500 thus far, Really don't want to spend more than £3000 due to having a wedding to save for!
TIA - Holly

Will give 1 piece of advice i found on here - pick your surgeon and not your price, there are enough risks reasons you could be unhappy with without risking a surgeon who isnt as good x

Welcome Holly :) Straightforward BA's are usually around 3500-4000, some people pay more. I haven't heard of anybody getting one for 3000. Your surgeon will choose what cc you will have or give you a choice once he's seen your boobs and knows the type of look you want. x

There are some places offering BAs for 2995 but their aftercare is quite short I know surgicare were offering this price but with only 6 months aftercare you could always try n pay 2500 n get the rest on finance for about £80 a month but I definitely agree the surgeon should be your deciding factor not the price x

Also your quoted price rockets at consultation, what the hospital group said would cost £3600 with a £200 voucher i could redeem off it, ended up being £4900 - more than i ended up paying for one of the best surgeons in the country. I could of saved a bit of money going directly and only getting 30 days aftercare and if i went in as a day case and didnt stay overnight but neither appealed to me that much, also gettigng cheaper implants with THG cut it down loads but the diffference when you feel the implants felt significant enough to pay an extra £600 xx

I paid 4495 for mine.

I could have gone elsewhere for less but took great comfort in having a brilliant surgeon who also works for the nhs and also in the 3 year after care package I have which covers any corrective surgery in addition to 10 year implant cover.

I know what it's like trying to get the cash together, but of waiting a little longer to be able to afford the best I would definitely advise it. You can't gamble with something like this. It is your only body and you need to ensure you are giving yourself the best chance of achieving the perfect BA xx

I have been to one consultation and was shown 300cc and 340cc's so wanted to go for the larger implants after researching online and finding people had good results from them. I understand that they're expensive but there is always room for haggling and saving money! Was looking at different companies and stories and was just looking for some support and some good advice! xxx

Haggle away its always worth a try but don't go for the ones who are willing to haggle for the sake of it, be happy with the surgeon, its so important!!

I went with spire they don't haggle, prices are set and from day one you know your aftercare and exactly what you get. I was happy to pay £100 for my initial consultation too.
My surgery day was brilliant, my recovery is going amazing and I haven't even thought twice about the price since I payed knowing how well I've been looked after and how great my results are xx

Mine are £3795 and my surgeon also works for the NHS.

Try and go on a few more consultations before choosing your surgeon, its a good idea to get a range of ideas from different surgeons and once youve been to a few you will know which surgeon is for you. You can then agree on a size and the look that your after together.

The only thing I will say is sometimes you get what you pay for. The more qualified and experienced a surgeon, the more money you will pay.
I don't think you can put a price on a good surgeon and clinic, and it could ruin the wedding day if things go wrong.

Completely reiterate what the other ladies have said. Read a few horror stories on here (Kay's and Cookie's for a kick off) and its enough to make you look beyond a cheap price rag at a commercial clinic. Do your homework hunni...the surgeon's skills (working in reconstruction for NHS, being BAAPS and BAPRAS registered) and a good aftercare package are more important than an extra grand.xx

i wanted a specific surgeon (chantarasak) after lots of research online and he works for both mya and transform so for me i went to both to see what each qould quote me for his surgery.

transform quoted me 4116 for surgery + overnight stay + chauffeur driven transport picking me up at home taking me to London for surgery and back to my doorstep in Cardiff. (i needed transport as have noone to take me)

Mya quoted me 4150 just for surgery. they said overnight stay additional 400 + transport a further 400 ! so 5 grand i dont think soooo Shocked

Transform warranty is also better and i thought they were alot more professional in the pc consultations

I echo what everyone else says. ultimately it's the decision between you and the PS you choose to what size and type of implant you have. Every woman's results are different so the volume you think you need to reach the size you want may not be correct.

Look for the right surgeon not the price. I had revision surgery last week because of a whole host of complications, I spent 3 years hating my breasts and in a considerable amount of pain, had no response from the clinic, no aftercare until I really couldn't take it anymore so flipped out and spent 9 months fighting for revision it was so stressful and I was extremely educated on a lot of the process but I let my naievity and desperation get in the way of what was right.

Go for some consultations with a few surgeons and see what they say. Yes try and haggle the price but please don't just pick a surgeon because of the price hun, it's really not worth the stress for the sake of £500 xxx

Hi holly
I agree with littlewellies. I'd never cut cost/ corners for something so important as this. I looked into BA for 6 years & toyed with various things cantered on cost until I decided to save for the best.

I went to DR Richard Milner @ Newcastle Nuffield (Jesmond) as he has the best reputation for doing great boobs. He's the chairman of BAPRAS which is a big deal. It's a place who use 3 guys associated with BAPRAS. The surgery cost £3,350 which included my stay in a lovely private room, meals, medication, check ups for a year etc. the consultation was £85.

I'm very happy with my enhancement but I met and researched every available place to have the surgery done within 2 hours of where I live & settled with the one I deemed to be the best. I would strongly recommend that you pick a place within an hour of where you live for follow up appointments & if you have concerns and want to be seen after your op. x

Totally agree with everyone on here. Lots of girls go abroad to get their ba done at a cheaper price but the aftercare wouldn't be there and you never really know what you're getting. I would def choose based on research, your surgeon, how you feel after having consultation etc. I had 2 consultations with a price difference of around £1000 and am going for the one I felt could offer me the best look. You have to think what is best for you and your body and if that means spending a little more in the long run it might be worth the wait xx I'm not having mine done til July but by then I'll be an expert with all my research!!! xx Happy hunting hun x

Hello and welcome to Breast Buddies Holly wavey

You'll get support in abundance here Holly and you got the best advice ever right below from littlewellies hun and the rest of the ladies here.

littlewellies wrote:Will give 1 piece of advice i found on here - pick your surgeon and not your price, there are enough risks reasons you could be unhappy with without risking a surgeon who isnt as good x

They aren't saying these things from a lack of support hun, they're saying them from from their own research and some from personal experience too lovely.

Please... Forget looking for a 'bargain boob-job' there's no such thing. This is your body you're talking about, not buying a new dress or a new handbag that if you don't like you exchange, or throw it in the back of the wardrobe. This is major surgery and is going to change your body... Possibly your life! This could be for the good and have life changing effects for the better.... Or it could be for the bad and lead to complications that could entirely ruin not only your wedding day Holly but your life too.

Clinics such as Spire and MyBreast, don't haggle. They use only the best surgeons BAAPS/BAPRAS and therefore their prices which are almost the same as commercial clinics will not move.

Commercial clinics such as Transform, MYA, The Harley Medica Groupl and The Hospital Group will haggle. Being very competetive with one another, they expect to beat each others prices to keep your business if they can.

As I said earlier finding the 'best surgeon' is your first step toward having a BA lovely, this is the person putting the knife to your body and can make the difference between a good or bad result so you want the most experienced you can find.

To help yourself find your surgeon, first decide whether you want a BAAPS/ BAPRAS surgeon or not.. If you do, you limit your search to a couple of clinics, if its not something you're bothered about then you research the commercial clinics babe (always check all surgeons qualifications using the GMC register) you can find clinics in your area using this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Call the clinics and request a list of surgeons working in your area babe, then its the hard work for you! Check out the surgeons qualifications on the GMC register, they should be on a specialist register for 'plastic surgery' after doing this your list is generally shortened, so then you simply google the surgeons you have left, looking for reviews from previous patients, good or bad. This again will probably leave you with a few that you might be interested in. Its those surgeons you want to make consultations hun.

Once you've had your consultations (do have more than one) you can then compare surgeons and surgery plans. You generally know which ones you want to see. If you have at least a couple of surgeons you're liking from the commercial clinics, you can haggle prices.

Its as simple at taking off £300-£400 generally off the price given, by telling them one of the competing clinics gave you a price 3-£400 less price for the same surgery plan than they suggested. Stand your ground, don't waiver at all and then let them get back to you with another offer, which undoubtedly will match or be very close to the other offer.

This all may sound like. Lot of hard work on your part lovely, but to get the best for yourself, you really do have to put in a little bit of effort and a whole lot of research.

Any questions, concerns or advice you might want about surgeons, clinics or the procedure we're here for you Holly and only want the best for you lovely. Xxx

Hey hunni welcome aboard lol, have a few consultations see who u like and dont like with their prices and im sure u will come to a decision as to what is best for you. But do find a good surgeon like the girls are saying. You only have to watch botched bodies on Chanel four to understand the implications of cheap surgery. It may seem appealing at the time or the most you can spend but some of the stuff i have seen have been horrendous. Its ensuring u have a good clean hospital too checking MRSA rates the cheaper it is the more u need to look into y. xx
