Shopping blues
I have been out both saturday and sunday looking for clothes (tops/blouses) and usually i am a size 10 but now i dont fit into hardly any of my own clothes. I obvs knew i would be bigger round the bust but its depressing! I literally come home both days with trousers because couldnt find nothing tha fits! Not even like i can get little cute strappy tops because of my god dann sports bra ruining it! Argh :-( xx

Re: Shopping blues
Hey lovely,
I know exactly how you feel, I'm 8 weeks down and still another 4 weeks to go off sports bra wearing day and night. People don't realize how much it limits what you can wear, and as it's sunny it's really frustrating to not be able to wear nice strappy tops! I'm not sure what PO bra you are wearing, but I am a million times happier now I've swapped to the Shock Absorber from the Macom. It feels x1000 more supportive and it's so much more flattering. It looks more like a bra so I've been able to actually wear nicer tops with it.
This is the link £18 in John Lewis at the mo too.
All I can say is hang on in there. Just have a browse on Miss Guided and Boux Avenue and think about all them lovely new low cut dresses you'll be able to wear!! Chin up, stay stong, and get yourself some nice floaty loose tops you can pair with shorts/skinny jeans etc to still feel summery :) xxx

Its horrible isnt it! I literally felt like crying yesterday cause i felt so fed up of shopping and finding nothing flatterening!
I bought two floaty blouses on friday just from asda that were quite pretty! I dread to think what i am going to do when im back to work wednesday as most of my suit dresses etc are tiny ha!
Im able to shower today and take my steri strips off so hopefully that helps my mood! Hope your okay too! Xxx

Re: Shopping blues
The first month of Post Op is really hard emotionally. As you've seen from my other posts, I'm now two months down the line and still have days where I am panicking about EVERYTHING and other days when I'm happy. It really is a big old journey, but we are all here for you if you need to get anything off your chest (so to speak!!)
I can still wear alot of my size 8 dresses, only one or two feel a little TOO snug around the bust which I imagine will get worst once I'm in normal bra's which are thicker.
Enjoy that shower and keep positive. As I say, as a little pick me up always good to have a browse at dresses and lingerie online. Think of all the nice things you'll be able to buy soon! xxxx

Re: Shopping blues
Awwwww hunny, I thought you had been quiet on the forum, hope ur ok. Like you say it's kind of limiting due to the support bra underneath, it won't be forever. But i understand it's going to be hard as the summers here.
How about hem floaty shirts that you can wear a vest under?
I'm going to be living in them I reckon come school run time.
Hope your healing well, stay positive, it's not forever. Xxx

Re: Shopping blues
It's a tricky time, you're still in your sports bra, they're still so new, and to top it if, you have this whole new body shape to dress. It takes some time finding your feet again and getting that confidence back. Once you're out of the sports bras it'll be all change, I promise. New look are great for a cheap strappy vest too, and who cares if your bra is showing!

Re: Shopping blues
Have a look for some maxi dresses hun that have a racer back and will be ok over a sports bra. It won't be long to wait until you'll be feeling fabulous with your new boobs and a new wardrobe to boot xx

Re: Shopping blues
I hope I don't go up a dress size with my 375's?....that would make me a 14 (my scary size!)
Im guessing they will fit our normal clothes, they will just feel different?

Re: Shopping blues
I didn't go up a clothes size, but then I was dressing my super padded bras anyway. The only thing I struggle with is they tend to try and escape bodycon dresses, and shirt gape, which I could easily fix with another button. But vests and tee's, still a 10/small

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I've not changed a clothes size, I'm still in all my clothes. If anything they fit better now and have just substituted padding for the real deal!! Xx
