Measuring myself
Hey all, out of interest I just wanted to measure myself for a rough idea of size.
I know it's REALLY early days as I'm to even 2 weeks post op but I'm so intrigued.
I've tried to google it and searched on here so apologies if I've missed it but I can't find instructions and google is giving the old method of adding to the band size.
Please can anyone help with how to do it. I'm not going to buy any bras as still in the Royce/macom but I would love a rough idea xx

Re: Measuring myself
I only know the one way of doing it. Which is the normal way. Measure band for example mine is 28 add 4 inches if even number so mine a 32,
Then measure around fullest part of boob. The difference between that figure and your band figure determines cup size. 1 inch difference is A 2 inch difference is B etc . Actually think I may measure mine now ....x

Re: Measuring myself
Measure your band, that is then your band measurement. No need to add anything just round up or down depending on fit. And then measure fullest part and difference between the 2 is your cup size, 1 inch per cup. That's a guide anyway!

Re: Measuring myself

Wowzers Littleannie!!!
Mine is 32 band and 38 bust so I'm working that out as 32E...does that sound right [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]? Xx

Re: Measuring myself
Dont add 4/5! All wrong! Like Mammamia said, dont add, just subtract the two for a rough estimate of your size. Underbust you want it firm and straight, and over bust bend over to get the full 'fullness' of the breast. Im 31/36-37, so I wear 32DD/E
28/35 = 28F
32/38 = 32E
Obviously with an actual fitting this will vary on the bra, and it depends on your comfort too, a 28 may feel too small, so go up to a 30. Remember, a brand new bra should always be worn on the loosest clasp, so that it can be tightened as it gives with washing.

Re: Measuring myself
I'm going to try it leaning forward to see if it makes any difference but don't think they move enough yet for it to change anything.

Re: Measuring myself
Amazing sizes ladies! I'm sure you can't wait until you can get a proper fitting.
After reading this thread I decided to measure myself properly. Or actually check that I have been converting correctly. I have always measured myself in centimetres rather than inches and used European sizes. I have always worn a 34B. Today I checked the conversion to inches properly and it turns out I should really be a 30D or even DD. I feel completely blown away. Surely I can't be a D cup? Tomorrow I will be going out to try some bras on. It is odd though that the European and UK sizes seem so mismatched. The 34B I normally wear is equivalent to European 75B and I measure 73-74cm so I was convinced this was the right size.

Re: Measuring myself
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], so many women are in the wrong size because of the +4/5 thing. Think about it, how many stores do you see a 34b in? And how many stock a 30d? It's all too common. Plus media has warped out minds about what a D cup is, often these 34dd's are more likely 30G's. But absolutely measure in inches, it's one of those things, being a 'metric' country, but UK you need to measure in inches to get the correct size.

Re: Measuring myself
So I just did this, and of course it can and probably WILL change as mine are still only newborns! But im coming up a 32e by the size chart [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] has suggested!
To be anything other than an A cup Is all new to me.
Well pleased! Would be happy to lose a little upper pole, I look totally porn starish even in just a simple vest at the mo lol!!!
Thrilled to bits I did this, and wa-hey I can now get off the couch using my left arm....rather than it just aching and feeling like ouch!!
