Driving (attempted)
I attempted it today (7 days post op), no chance! I got to the end of the drive and couldn't turn the wheel, had to get out and let my OH do it (sad face).
Looks like I will be getting taxi's to and from work next week when I go back, dreading it, feel like I need another week to recover properly but I have no more holidays available now.
I'm struggling and feeling a bit down now.... also wishing I'd had smaller implants, I think these are just too big for me :-(

Hi Hun, if you feel you need more time off you should listen to your body. I'm sure your surgeon or gp would give you a sick note, they don't have to say on there what you've had done so it can be kept discreet.
I couldn't drive til 2 weeks post op, reversing and 5th gear were just a no-no til then
Make sure you take it easy X

Oh Honey, 1 week is just too soon to drive, I can't even imagine wearing the seatbelt lol my hubby drove me to the clinic today and I went in the back to avoid the seatbelt.
I hope you feel better soon about the size...maybe it feels big because it's still hard and swollen?
Stay positive...

I was still wearing a pillow in cars at 1wk. Didn't drive until 3, but then I had the luxury of it. If you feel like you need another week, take it, don't go back too early and hurt yourself. Your gp should be able to sign you of stating 'general surgery' if you want to keep it shush.
They're going to feel huge right now, you have all the swelling plus they're brand spanking new, you still need some time to get used to them. Take it easy for a bit longer.

Oh muddypaws...totally echo what the others have said. If you don't feel ready, your body is telling you it's not. I've had a really bad year health wise and although this is totally different, the main thing I've learnt is how important it is to listen to your body.
Get yourself a sicknote and take the pressure off yourself for another week or 2 so you can concentrate on healing.
Give your boobs a chance to settle and for the swelling to go down. I'm sure you'll fall in love with them xx

I'm sure your all right. My (male) boss knows what I've had done and he's quite understanding so I will get a taxi in on Tuesday and see how I go, if I need to leave I'm sure he will understand.... It's just I can't afford to take the time off.... I've got boobs to pay for now haha x
I'm sure they will grow on me eventually (no pun intended there!).
Thanks for the re-assurance everyone, it means a lot, I could never say all this to my other half, I'd just get a lecture about how it was me that wanted it done etc etc.
There's no-one else I can really talk to about it. This group is invaluable, I'm so glad I found you all .
Thanks,
xxxx

Re: Driving (attempted)
Agree with others, if you feel like you can't go back to work yet, then you really need to take the time off. I felt guilty about letting my store down as I had to get a sick note after my 2 weeks holiday, so I had 4 weeks off. My recovery was a lot harder than I ever imagined! I didn't drive until week 3 and even then changing gear was hard! Just listen to your body, you've paid a lot for these and you don't want to damage them/healing by doing things too soon.
I got to 2 months and all my swelling had definitely gone by then, boobs dropped and I felt they were so small! So your new assets may feel huge at the moment but you have a lot of swelling at the moment and in a sports bra, also your still getting used to actually having boobs! I found it weird that when I was washing up I could feel boobs against my arm, I now either don't notice it or the swellings gone! It's all just a waiting game. :-) xx

Hi, they are not too big as far as I can see. They really suit your frame. Give yourself time to get used to them. Xxx

They will feel huge & alien to start, once everything heals & they settle they will feel more natural to the point you become less aware of having implants.
As others have said see how you feel & if you need that little bit extra time take it, a week can make so much difference in how you are feeling both physically & emotionally.
