My consultation with Simon Withey this morning
So I finally saw Simon Withey today @mybreast. Been waiting 6 weeks and I think he was worth the wait. Quick recap of my first ever consultation which was in March - Norman Waterhouse - he said I'd need a full uplift and nipple lift, and no bigger than 140cc implants. I was really disappointed especially as the quote for that surgery was over £9k !!! So that's why I've been counting the days to see Simon Withey as was desperate for him to recommend something a bit bigger and no uplift.
So I went to the St Elizabeth and St John hospital in London this morning for consultation with Simon Withey. Was kept waiting 30 mins for appt because he was running behind but I didn't get annoyed about that as I figured at least he gives his time to customers - I ended up being with him for an hour too, although appt slots are 45 mins. He spent a long time talking about all the possible complications of surgery, what might go wrong with the implants (CC, rippling, etc) and what I would be and wouldn't be covered for. He kept saying I needed to know all of this in order to be fully informed and have realistic expectations of the results and outcomes, to help me be sure about whether I want to go ahead. He spent a lot longer examining my breasts than the first consultant did, said I have some asymmetry which would still be there after. He said I had 3 options as he feels my breasts have dropped after 3 kids / breast feeding and age. 1. Have implants and accept my nipples will be very low down; 2. Have implants and nipple lift; 3. Have teardrop shaped implants (with risk of rotation).
So I've got a big decision to make about nipple lift but he said I don't need uplift too (Norman Waterhouse had said I'd need both which had shocked me), so now I need to think about whether I can cope with idea of a nipple lift (scarring that puts me off). I asked about position of implant and he recommends dual plane for me, and when I asked about size he said either 180, 220 or 240 - told me to do the rice test at home as we ran out of time to try on sizers but would do that at next consultation. So I'm gonna do rice test tonight. Am relieved he said I could go up to 240cc cos Norman had said 140 maximum, but he said no bigger than 240 for my frame. I asked what make of implant he uses: Nagor Cohesive Gel textured - anyone know about these particular ones? Phew I think that's all the key points! Sorry for rambling on! Tomorrow I'm back up to London for Garrick Georgeu consultation and then I'll take it from there re my next step.
Thoughts? Xx

Re: My consultation with Simon Withey this morning
That sounds really in depth! Great you had a much better experience, and he's given you a lot to think about! The mayors are good implants, so that's nothing to worry about. The anatomicals are known to give a possible small lift, but there is more risk of rotation, but it is small. It depends what you want really. With the rice test, try each size for a while, and go about your daily stuff so you can get a real feel for them on your body.
Good luck with tomorrow, I hope it's comparable and gives you more to think about.

Re: My consultation with Simon Withey this morning
Your consultation today sounds EXACTLY the same as mine with Mr Foo... went through all the contraindications and problems with my natural boobs before talking about the surgery and the implant size.
Sounds like you really liked him too.. congratulations! xx

Thanks for updating us. Sounds like you've had a great consultation today and very similar to mine.
I'm having nagor implants too. Loads of info about them online.
Lots of thinking to do but all very promising.
Do you think he's the one? Xx

Re: My consultation with Simon Withey this morning
Hey all thank you for reading my post (!!). Looks like I wrote a mini essay :-0. I'm going to wait until I've met with Garrick Georgeu tomorrow and then will decide who to go with ... I don't think its going to be easy cos Georgeu appears to be an excellent surgeon too, but will wait to hear what he says.
Re. the rice test, I'm currently sitting on sofa with 240 grams of rice in stockings in my bra (LOL!!) and it definitely feels like the biggest I'd want to go, for my chest width, upper body width. Feels massive. Slightly puzzled that I'm sure I've read on here that you are supposed to measure in liquid units rather than grams (e.g fill a jug up to 240cc) rather than weigh out grams but Simon definitely said grams...
Thanks again lovelies! xxx

Exciting! Sounds like it went well :-) Garrick will prob rened furry brazillian implants. If you have teardrop shape with furries they chance of them rotating is 1% compared to normal implants so if it's the shape you want I highly recommended getting the furry ones.
Either way, excited to hear how you get on :-) xxx

Thanks girls! I'm on a crowded train to London, sitting on the floor (I have no shame!), looking forward to hearing what he says and I'll report back later (gives me something to do on train journey back!).

Re: My consultation with Simon Withey this morning
Hi all. On my way home from seeing Garrick Georgeu - the best bit - no nipple lift / uplift needed! Cos of the type and shape of implant, either conical or anatomical so both would lift my nipples up. He uses the furry brazilians. Size would be between 225 and 275cc which all sounds about right (275 looked too big for me though). Profile would be low or moderate. I really like him, I felt at ease, felt he answered all my questions, though I'm sure I'd go back soon to ask more questions. He is my favourite so far!
