Day 8- Dressings off yesterday- OUCH!!! Empty Day 8- Dressings off yesterday- OUCH!!!

Hello girls :)
I hope everyone is ok :)
Sorry if my post is a bit of a whiney one but feel all teary and pathetic today.
I'm 8 days post BA, had submuscular implants with a Benelli lift, was doing really well recovery wise til I had my dressings taken off at the clinic yesterday, i feel like i've gone right back to day 3 pain wise!! I keep getting electric shock type feelings?! And my nipples feel like they might pop off!! I just want to cry. The tape they put on round my boobs took some of my skin off when the nurse removed it yesterday so they really sting and i was told to have a shower to soften the scabs around my nipples but it's just too painful. The nurse said that the wounds are healing really well so that's good and i'm pleased with the results so far so i don't know why i feel like this?! Has anyone else had similar?? Will it be bad if the scabs stay on for a bit longer? I am freaking out!!
Sorry again for being such a mysery guts!!

Sorry to hear you're not happy. The electric shocks are just the nerves starting to reknit, and your nips are still probably quite swollen. This should go down in another week or so.

Which clinic did you go with? I'm a little concerned about the shower comment. Yes, shower, but you really shouldn't be soaking them for any reason, especially to get the scabs off. That's just inviting bacteria in. When you shower, dab them both dry with separate clean parts of a towel, then blow dry on cool until they're bone dry. The scabs will come off in their own time, just like any other cut, don't try and force them, or they may open up and be susceptible to infection.

If your in pain, take some painkillers, or try some icepacks, it'll help take the edge off. And try and sleep it off, sleeping is healing. Feel better :)

Thank you :) I went with NU cosmetic clinic. My surgeon was brilliant but the nurse i saw yesterday was a bit vague!
Thank you again for your advice, you've reassured me loads!
Have dosed up on paracetamol and am having a hot chocolate to cheer up! Sorry again for being a whiner! Felt really good til today overall then it was like hitting a wall!
Thank you x

ah not a misery guts Mae, it's a touch of the boobie blues. At day 8 your only just at the very start of your healing esp more so for an uplift.

Don't do anything you don't feel comfortable with. If the shower hurts don't do it. Let the scabs dry out and fall, off themselves.

Sounds like the nurse could do with a bit more care practice, no skin should come off!

The electric shocks are normal and can be so random, but at the same time painful when they're happening.
It is a good sign of nerves healing though and they can carry on for months however becoming less frequent as time goes on.

It can be a very anti climax early after ba, the whole build up then the healing, lack of sleep, pain, discomfort, painkillers can make you feel quite low, even though everything is going well. X

Hope your feeling a bit better! Hug
Everything was probably quite happily healing under the dressings/ tape & with it being quite painful having them removed has probably irritated the area a little.
I'm with Charli  I would leave scabs to do their own thing & fall off when they are good & ready,
If nipples are painful / over sensitive , cotton wool pads over them may help to cushion the area & help them feel more protected, would give clinic a call to check it is ok to do this before hand though.

Thank you MrsBall :) And Charlii :) And Mirren :) That's such a good idea about the cotton pads! Thank you! I'm going to check with the clinic and if it's ok see if hubby will go to Boots for me!!
I feel a lot better today after my 1st proper sleep since the BA :)
Your advice is so good, just going to do what feels ok and not push it too much!
I didn't even think of the anti-climax type feeling but it's so true!!
Your avis look amazing by the way :)
Thank you x

group hug

Glad you're feeling better, it can be a rollercoaster and has it's moments!
Healing can take quite a while and even though it's something we've wanted for so long the journey can still have it's down days, but it's all worth it in the end! Xx
