Over the muscle pain?
Hi ladies, I'm having overs next month and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the pain and restrictions to expect. I'll have my husband at home for ten days and after ill be alone with the kids. I'm hoping I can adapt and manage. I've only had one op before, a c section, that took a good few weeks to feel better so I'm hoping it won't be as bad as that?! Thanks for any advice x

I can't speak to overs first hand, but it's more an ache and sore rather than pain. Someone with overs will be along to be more in depth!

Re: Over the muscle pain?
I had overs. Agree more of an ache than pain pain. And really the uncomfortableness is there mainly when using your upper body so when resting you're ok. You feel weaker across your chest and arms so you use your stomach a lot more, but I imagine the impact is far less compared to a c section. Upper body movement can be quite restricted.I had my op on a Wednesday and was up and about by the weekend. Obviously not lifting/driving but able to walk about and have lunch out. For the first week I would plan to rely on your hubby completely. 2nd week less so but still no lifting. How old are your children? I had my hubby to help with ours for 2 weeks which was fab but 10 days I'm sure will be great.

Sleeping is difficult too especially if you're a light sleeper as hard to get comfy but personally I worked out a good pillow fort and slept great!

Re: Over the muscle pain?
Thank you for replies. They are 8 3 and 1 so really the little one only to lift, but I can probably set up camp in the living room so I won't need to lift her. She can nap on the couch or cushions.....maybe! It will be the easter hols so ill have a full two weeks of no school etc.
I didn't lift anything except baby after the section for 6 weeks although she was a lot lighter then! But I suppose with a section and unders they go through muscle so I'm hoping it will be less pain! X

I had overs, it's more uncomfortable than pain. Restricted arm movement. For me is was more the skin felt sunburned. Like a sore feeling. Sleeping was uncomfy. A v pillow was a must for me. I got a tight feeling like I had a weight on my chest xxx

Re: Over the muscle pain?
Thanks Anne, can I ask if you've had children? I ask as I'm already quite stretched skin wise, I'm kind of imagining the feeling when your milk comes in! I know everyone is different but I like to prepare myself! X

I'm sure you'll be fine. Maybe someone who's had a c section and a BA will comment soon but I imagine if you've coped with a section you'll be fine! Bear in mind after the GA you'll feel exhausted for a couple of days. Exciting times and it's all worth it!

I think if your skin has already stretched its easier, surgeon told me there's less impact in nipple changes too if they've been stretched before!
