Re: bra tight under breast
Me and it's awful the way it irritates my incisions, have tried so many bras, padding with socks and gauge doesn't help either as that seems to apply pressure to them :( I'm regretting not getting A Macom now as the bras I've bought that have lower bands don't feel as supportive as the others I have arghh it's a nightmare! Also my chest strap doesn't help :( xx

Hi, some bras you wear post op are suitable some are not. Everyone is different. Do while son girls will get on with a certain type you may not. Your swelling is at its worse right now. Day 3 and 4 are the worst. Drink plenty of water with a healthy diet and get your body moving with perhaps some gentle walking. Xxx

Try popping some pantyliners sticky side out against you're incisions to stop then rubbing. Or if you're going all out, some Silk Always!!

Totally agree with what Anne said!
Since I had my dressings off I've worn a medium impact sports bra from primark, they were only a fiver each, they are so comfy on me and I could wear them forever/ plus they've never given my incisions any gip either.
But, that's what's working for me but may not for others!

Crazy isn't it. The bra I love the most is from primary and it's so soft and comfy ( avi pic ) is wear it
Constantly but afraid that it's not supportive enough... So worried about doing harm etc. I also take portion now when my incisions get really itchy and that helps loads too!! At the movement I've got socks and gauge all round my band just not over the incisions so they're sorta stretching the band away haha sounds crazy but it's helping! Xx

Yes normal ! By day 8 you won't feel half as bad ! I'm day 8 now , feeling a lot lot better today . Still painful but not so severe . I used thick night time sanitary towels because I couldn't stand the pressure near my incisions

I love the colours of them too, yours looks like a nice colour, I've got a bright pink one on at the min. IN my avi you can see it a little bit, it's grey and whiye striped.
I should be wearing a 32 band but I've got 34 band ones, I told my nurse and she did say it's ok for now as not pressing on my incisions. After my 6week appt I'm going to get a few more In my correct size as they are really that comfy hun and I know I'm getting the good support, it will give my incisions a couple weeks more healing before I get a tighter band.
But if this is the wrong thing to do and I should be wearing a tighter band then please feel free to tell me anyone!!

Re: bra tight under breast
The only thing I would say is that witha cheaper brand, after a few washes it will lose all its support. Support is really important after you ba. If your surgeon has requested you wear support xxx

Re: bra tight under breast
Girls just one point - if you've been told high impact or full support, these primark bras or any other cheapie are not going to achieve that for you. I would stick with your high impacts until after you're prescribed time, or it could affect your healing, or they could deny you your aftercare if the surgeon finds out.

Re: bra tight under breast
Charlii just to ask/clarify, I was told I didn't high impact or anything like that, so I will be ok in these medium impact sports bras from primark??
Also, I'm wearing band 34 as didn't want anything too tight and pressing down on the incisions, but I'm band 32. When I had my stitches out I had one of these bras on and asked if it was ok (except I didn't mention that I now measure 32 band) and she said it looks like it fits you fine!!
So should I carry on wearing this till 6weeks when the incisions will be healed even more and then get a 32 band, or carry on with this size?? Or should I just call and mention the band difference?

Hard to tell what size I've gone up to as they are still swollen and tight. I'm wearing a 36c support bra (but like I said I have extenders and they are on the loosest fitting). I was a 34b before the BA but measured just before the BA and my band was only a 31! I'll keep u updated though on how they go X x

Re: bra tight under breast
If you weren't specifically told high impact, it should be ok as long as they're stable. But like Anne said above, they are quick to lose their elasticity. If the nurse has said it's ok, stick with what you're in, but if it begins to feel loose, or they start to get achy, I'd switch to the 32. All the support comes from the band so it needs to fit. You're 4wks post? You may find that in the coming week all the residual swelling is gone, so it may well have fitted, but starts to feel looser now.

Re: bra tight under breast
Thanks Charlii!!
Ive been hand washing them to try and keep them in good condition, but I'll keep all what's been advised in mind and switch if it gets loose.
4weeks tomorrow, it's gone so quick!!
Thanks again x x x

Re: bra tight under breast
I might get some as was told I don't need to worry about much support in a bra as my implants and current chest size are so small! At that price and look, you can afford to buy loads of sizes! Do have a shock absorber for after too just incase! Opted for 30d but band is 28! 30 is tight now!!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] that's the same as me, so I got the ones from primark and the colours were lovely and so cheap! But I will keep in mind what's been said and look out for them loosening or getting achey boobies! x x x
