Oh thanks cookie. I am sure you have linked thus already but what does the phrase "all the most common complications" refer to? I see the list of surgical procedures that are included, but not whet specific boob related complications. Would be interested to have a nosy if you could direct me.
Enjoy your day next week, another friend had hers done with dougie last week, she wanted small and natural, mad she is over the moon with her results xx

Hi cookie
I'm very pleased for you too. Can't wait to hear how you go. I had my consultation with mcgeorge on wed and specifically asked about the asc and he said all baaps surgeons will cover you for 2 years even capsular contracture. And considering he was the one that championed it I think it's all good.
Weenie xxx ps I booked him for the 3rd of April. Yey!

Re: Recieved my admission details
I think you mean which complications are covered by the ASC insurance? The most common complications I can think of directly related to Breast Augmentation are: infection, seroma, heamatoma, bottoming out, implant misplacement, rupture and CC. There are none listed on the website or linked to either. There is however a direct link you could contact for the complications to be listed for you, or there's a phone number on the website you can call too. I presume because it covers so many procedures there's far too many complications to list, so if you need that further reassurance the contact details are there to useEmma71 wrote:Oh thanks cookie. Thanks for the well wishes Emma and for telling me about your friend. It's always reassuring reading women who are happy after their surgery with Mr McGod and never yet heard one bad thing about him. One week and it my turn with him then!
We actually broke the news here when Mr McGeorge first piloted the ASC insurance. Right then it was still only available to BAAPS surgeons but they had to opt in. There was a small fee of around £150-£250 depending on the surgeon used. The insurance also started when your clinics Aftercare ended. So for example, Spire offered a years aftercare, so with the seperately purchase of ASC insurance you then bumped your aftercare up to 3 years. This then changed to still having BAAPS surgeons opt in and it being a seperate purchase and the insurance starting 29 days after your surgery, so you were still covered by the clinics aftercare within those 29 days. This was where I was up to in the changes made to it, hence my concern about it not being listed.Weeniebott wrote:Hi cookie

It has since evolved to now which automatically insures ALL surgeons and is automatically part of your package deal with a BAAPS member.
This was were my confusion came from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], because before until very recently it was something charged seperately alongside the clinics aftercare. That included Mr McGeorge also even if it was his baby lol. I do wish they'd make news of the updates, but they didn't. It's still a great thing to have though and I'm very happy with it.
So happy you've booked with him too. He won't disappoint you and you'll be in VERY good hands babe. Xxx

Ahhh Cookie that's awesome!! Thanks for letting me know, I was dreading calling up and having to pay some more money- although I would've done as definitely worth it!!COOKIE wrote:Just reading the insurance and it's changed from when it first started and now ALL BAAPS surgeons are automatically covered in the fixed price, so you ARE covered [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], don't worry.Raisen22 wrote:I never enquired about this added insurance. Re: Recieved my admission details
Thanks ladies. Only 3 days to go now.
The excitement has waned now if I'm honest. One of my dogs is dying. He has epilepsy and we've been controlling that well with medication. His insurance he had has now run out so we have to pay for the medication ourselves which is a lot of money. His epilepsy has sadly now progressed. Ive never heard a dog scream like my dog and see all of his muscles contort. My heart is broken. We called out the emergency vet who was so good and examined him thoroughly. He'd stopped screaming by the time the vet arrived so he was asking what the scream was like. We really couldn't describe the noise at all. It was horrific. We did suspect he maybe had an ear infection because the day before he was kind of holding his head to the side. The vet lifted his ear and he started screaming and contorting his body again.
The vet said he'd never experienced anything like what he saw. Even dogs brought in with broken bones after being run over don't sound like he did, so he stood for a while and then said. It's not physical at all. The problem is the lesions on the brain caused by the epilepsy and also his age he has a sort of dimentia.
Sort of like people with dimentia might suddenly start screaming for no reason, it's not pain causing the scream, it's the brain and this is why the scream is so different.
He said there may also be a tumour, if it is it might be able to be removed and give him a good quality of life for the rest of his days. But then again....there may not be. He thinks he may have a slight infection though so he needs to have general anaesthetic to treat that given how he reacted, so whilst he's under they may as well rule out other things.
He can't be left alone at all. He's had one episode with me today and ive just cried for says.
If the surgery doesn't help then we've decided the best thing to for him is to let him go. It's too distressing for him to go through. He's wide awake and terrified when going through these episodes.
There's no definite cure for him though, he's old and not well, but before this he still enjoyed his walks and play times and his dinner and treats. All that's gone right now, but if we don't at least try we'll never forgive ourselves.
So it's not looking good at all. If he gets more time with us even if it's only for a little while and he dies in peace, I pray to God that we can have that.
I don't want him to die in fear or pain though. It's just a horrible time for us all. Our dogs are our family. I know many won't understand that and that's OK. You have a right to your opinion, but to my family and I, they are our babies and we love them dearly. He's to have his surgery on Thursday, my daughters taking Friday off so my husband can take me to the hospital for my op Friday morning. My hubby will drop me off and then he'll have to leave to collect Blue from the vet if he's well enough and he'll come and see me later if a blues OK. If not I'll just have to FaceTime my family and check on how everyone is doing.
Sorry if that's all a bit morbid. I know it is, but my heart is with my poor dog right now and not focused at all on having my Breast Augmentation. Xx

Aww sweetie, I certainty understand,... In fact I'm in tears reading your post =(
My parent's lost their big fluffy boy few months back, it tore us all up. Including my 4yo daughter who doesn't quite understand where he's gone and why she can't ever see him again. =( Such a horrible thing to go through. I hope for all your sakes, the op helps him out. xxx

Thank you Zum. I just can't function at the moment when my poor dog needs me so much. He's a proper mummy's boy too so keeping cuddling into me, but he's not a little dog and he practically sods on my knee. He's not usually like this but I just think my poor boy is scared and wants his mum. Xx
I'm sorry for your loss Zum.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] So sorry to hear that. Dogs bring so much love and joy to a family. I know how horrendous it is when they start to get unwell. Try and stay strong for his sake and give him lots of kisses and cuddles. Thinking of you! xxx

Re: Recieved my admission details
I don't have the strength to be strong anymore blush. It's just one thing after another here. I know money shouldnt factor when a life's concerned but the vet fees are VERY high. We've only just scraped together the rest of the money for my op and now we need to pay all the fees for the dog. The emergency vet alone cost me £180. This included meds as well. But his op is costing a small fortune. We do have credit cards to use but we always pay them off at the end of the month. If we can't afford the costs at the end of the month, we don't use them, but in this case were going to have to put it on the card and pay it off monthly with interest.
So we're worrying financially too. Sounds pretty stupid coming from a women having surgery to cosmetically enhance her boobs doesn't it. But we just don't have this money and this too has put a lot of stress on us. I don't care though. We'll pay whatever it takes if we get our old boy back how he was. It is hard though
Thank you for your kind words Blush

Re: Recieved my admission details
My parent's were in a similar predicament. They had no credit cards, just a savings account which they called the Vet Account which had a decent sum of money in case any of the animals fell sick. When big man got ill they found a lump in his mouth and he needed surgery to remove. Only the anesthetic caused him fluid on his heart, then he was on £100 every two weeks of med's to help his heart which just wasn't getting better, after several weeks his heart finally gave in. He's a giant breed and was getting on too which didn't help matters. Really cleared out my parents too with all the meds/ops etc =( Like I said, horrible position to be put in. xx

So sorry to read you're having a difficult time cookie. Dogs are a mans best friend and it's so difficult to make decisions on their behalf. My old lab had diabetes and it was so hard when she got really ill and we had to make difficult decisions. I hope things improve and we see excited cookie again soon. Hugs xxxx

Thank you all so very much.
I'm honestly really struggling, but will be hopefully taking my mind off Blue for a while when I go for my waxing today and pack my bag and things.
Thank you all for the thoughtfulness you've shown. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I honestly really can't. Every word mattered to me so much. Xx

Re: Recieved my admission details
I'm so sorry to hear your news, Cookie. I can fully understand how you must be feeling. My very first dog was also called Blue and I've had to go through this twice now with my beloved dogs. They are part of your family...any one who doesn't get that shouldn't have pets in my respectful opinion.
My second Dog, Blackie went through exactly the same as your beautiful Blue. And although I was heartbroken, it really gave me comfort to know he couldn't have been more loved and we let him slip away in our arms knowing he'd never be in pain again.
Thinking of you and your family. Take care. XX

From my heart - thank you all, so very much.
I'm totally numb about tomorrow, but my husbands hopes it'll help take my mind off things with the surgery tomorrow and then initially looking after the new additions afterwards. Let's hope so hey. Xx
