Consultation booked JJ Staiano
So I just booked my first ever consultation with Mr JJ Staiano in Birmingham next week. I am nervous and excited at the same time. To be honest I see this more as part of my research than as a first step towards surgery. I wasn't planning to start going to consultations already but I found an offer to have a free full consultation with Mr Staiano who is BAAPS and normally charges £120 for a consultation so I thought I should take the opportunity and see it as a chance to find out more.

Re: Consultation booked JJ Staiano
Hi!
I had my surgery with Mr Staiano in November. He is so lovely, very professional and he certainly knows his stuff.
Ive had a few niggles, we all do in the beginning, but I was just saying on another thread that its more likely in my head than in my boobs lol
I hope u have a good consultation :) everyone there is so lovely x

Re: Consultation booked JJ Staiano
Hi Jen, I'm glad to hear you had a good experience with Mr Staiano. Would you mind telling me a bit more about how your first consultation with hime went? Did you go to other consultations as well? What made you decide to go with Mr Staiano?
Sorry for all the questions I'm just happy to have found someone with experience with this particular surgeon.
I have read a bit about polyurethane implants and from what I've found it seems they could be what I am looking for but I will wait and see what I am advised during consultations.

Re: Consultation booked JJ Staiano
No problem Linda. It was great, I wrote down a list of questions but only had to ask about 3 of them as he answered the others in his general chatter. I did a lot of research on the polyurethane implants beforehand so I could ask him about those.
I also took pictures with me of te kind of result I was looking for, and pictures of what I didn't want. We tried on the sizers after he had measured my breast width, we agreed on a size and I already knew I wanted moderate profile so that helped narrow it down a bit.
He was very thorough and patient. We had a good giggle with the nurse when I tried on the sizers. I was with him for 1 hour and 15, and booked other consultation with him for 3 weeks later. In between those we emailed a bit and spoke on the phone a couple of times. I actually ended up booking my surgery before my second consultation.
I had a consultation with one of the big companies a few years back and just came out of it feeling like a herded sheep that they were trying to push through a gate.
I came across Jonathan by chance really, was looking up surgeons nr where I live and he came up. I liked the fact he has his own surgery, and his ethics sat well with me.
Obviously most people will recommend their surgeon, im just lucky that his style and personality was something I liked :)
I really think u will be in good hands with Jonathan and his team x

Thank you that's very helpful. I am getting really excited to have a first consultation. It is suddenly getting a lot more real than just doing online research. Hopefully my experience with him will be as good as yours. x

Good luck Linda! It's such a whirlwind when you go. You'll come out so full of information you won't know what to do with yourself!
I took some pics with me which helped to give a visual aid of what I wanted, and I also printed off the checklist of questions off this forum to take with me.
Take a pen and notepad, and don't be afraid to ask ask ask!
It's very strange at first whipping your top off then having a complete stranger feel you up and draw on you, but just relax and enjoy the experience and listen carefully to what they say.
My only regret is not taking a family member or friend. You might not want them there for the actual getting your boobs out bit, but when you try on some bra's I would of really liked someone that knows ME there, rather than a Nurse! I had quite a bad experience with the Nurse in that she was very quiet and unenthusiastic. Would highly recommend taking someone so you can have a giggle and get a good honest opinion!

Re: Consultation booked JJ Staiano
I hadn't really thought of bringing someone. I just feel that it is important that this is purely about me and what I want. But then also I am not looking to get surgery until possibly August so there will be plenty of time for follow up consultations where I can bring someone for support.

Good luck. Take a list of questions to ask. I find I have tons but when I'm in front of the surgeon my brain goes to jelly and I forget to ask anything lol x

Thank you, I have started preparing a document with all the questions I want to ask and lots of pictures of my dream boobies. I am getting very excited. Looking at pictures of boobs is so much more fun than the work I'm supposed to be doing.

Haha that's what I was like too! I was spending hours each day looking at boobs!
Somewhere on this forum is a checklist which has all the questions pre-prepared. If you try and get in touch with one of the moderators they should be able to send it to you xxx

There are so many beautiful boobs out there! I can't wait to have a nice pair for myself.
I have seen the checklist. It is great and a lot of the questions in my document are from that list. I have also added a few questions specific to me and some things I just want to know.
