Band or binder
hey :0) so I'm keen to know what is the difference between a band and a binder? When I went to my 1st week appointment the nurse asked me where my binder was and I said I never hand one I just woke up with the band I and she said oh that's strange marcos (my surgeon) always uses binders?? So it's just playing on my mind why I didn't have one n what is the difference lol xxx

Re: Band or binder
A band is a strap that goes across the boobs forcing them downward.
A binder is a compression item, It covers you from the top of your boobs to the bottom. Generally used to minimise the swelling.
I had a compression bandage binder after my second, or was it my third op?.. Oh well, it was one of them lol and I was trussed up like a mummy as you can see in my pic here lol
I really wouldn't worry about it at all though. You're an an individual. So Mr Marcos won't have ALL of his patients in binders because not all will need one, some will need a strap, others nothing at all. Your surgeon prescribed you the strap because that's what was needed to help 'you' get the results you require.
No surgeon has a one surgery plan fits all and if they did...they're not fit for surgery. Xx

Re: Band or binder
Oh right thankyou for clearing that up I thought the binder was to push the implants into the pocket :0/ lol I should be only wearing my strap at bedtime from today but iv emailed my PCC as my left is still sitting higher but as come down a teeny little bit so was scared to take it off incase it moves back up? Is this possible? She's advised me to keep it on til I see surgeon next week but wear it in a figure of 8! So I tried but just don't no how it is supposed to go? I put it over the left boob and under the right which is the one that's dropped but it's pushing my right up from underneath! Can u shed any light on whether I'm doing it wrong? Thanks in advance xxxx

Re: Band or binder
The only thing I can think of is the same as yourself - the strap needs to go over the Breast that's high, then under the Breast that's dropped.
The implant won't be forced back up so don't worry about that. Everything is stretched on the sode that's dropped so it'll just sit back where it's dropped into.
Your implants won't rise back up your chest Rebecca. Don't worry about that at all. The ONLY time this would happen would be if you were to have CC, which you don't lol. So just relax hun, it'll all be just fine.

Re: Band or binder
Awwww I think all of us post-op ladies know what it's like to have that surgeons reassurance. It feels an age away, but the day soon comes around and hopefully you'll be able to ditch that band for good. Xx
