Re: Which Post op bra
Yes high profile as they said it will give better cleavage . My breast width isn't very wide or something I'm quite petite. 5ft 2, 8stone 2 at the moment .
Thanks for the link I will check it out :)

Eeeek ! From what you ladies think I am probably best to stick with this size then. The surgeon said I can try sizes on the morning of my operation and see if I decide I want the slightly bigger ones . Perhaps not lol!

Make sure you're happy and confident with the size choosen though! I personally would keep trying in sizers or doing the rice test until i was!

Re: Which Post op bra
Thanks for the link mama Mia . They aren't very flattering lol ! Is that because our boobs have to be held tight against the body for a while ? When is it ok to start wearing pretty bras etc and when am I able to go jumping about at festivals

You will be glad of the support they give you though. You have to be patient for pretty bras. The time will come though. It's about giving your boobs the best possible start xx

Re: Which Post op bra
Lol gembo no bouncing for at least 8 weeks! Sports bra usually for at least 6! I thought they were super sexy!!! It's a very short period of time in the grand scheme of things and you'll want the support and comfort. First few weeks when I took mine off for a shower i thought my boobs were going to fall off!! Your surgeon will tell you how long you need to wear one for...depends on his preferences and your healing. Think of the plus side though.....extra support means your boobs will take longer to sag! In the early weeks the support is needed so the implant adheres (in the correct position!) to your Breast tissue so v important!

Re: Which Post op bra
The majority of implants in the uk are textured shell, so they need to be kept stable and still in order for the implant to adhere to the pocket and form its capsule. Movement needs to be a minimum so that they stick properly.
Your surgeon will give you your own specific recovery instructions. Generally its sports bras for 6-12wks before you're given the all clear for wires, same for exercise. But with both of these things, just because you're allowed doesn't mean you'll be able to yet! Some people need to ease themselves into wires, and I know for me, there was no way I was able to start running again at 6wk. You've just got to take it as your body goes. The bouncing comes later once they start to really soften! (but in all honesty, if I were to go bouncing at festivals, I'd still wear a sports bra! Don't want a black eye!!)

Think of it in terms of exercise. Low impact would be yoga, so you want something to hold you in, but you're not bouncing about putting stress on the breast. High impact is running, where there is a lot of breast movement, so need more support to reduce the bounce. Have a look on a couple of websites for a read up, Nike and ShockAbsorber

Re: Which Post op bra
I'm trying to post a reply with a link to the bras I brought, but forum won't let me? If you type "macom post op bra" into Amazon it comes up with a bra exactly like the macom but cheaper. I got a 2 pack for £49 and the quality is great and support is excellent. Nurse was impressed with them too. Definitely recommend them.

hmm, shouldn't stop you...are you on a phone or computer? Sometimes my BB wont let me paste things here. Is it the Renolife? Be careful to double check they are post op, and not just comfort bras parading as something better!

Re: Which Post op bra
The crop top style? I wouldn't recommend for post op, no way you're going to be able to get one on! They're not high impact either, you can see from the pics on amazon. Crop tops tend to be higher fitting too, the m+s sits more bra like. Avoid anything push up either, you don't want that post op.

Re: Which Post op bra
I got the macom... bit worried at the moment, I bought a medium 34 (Im a 32 normally) I thought with swelling straight after surgery a medium would be better, when I tried it on last night it was quite big!! - fingers crossed with swelling and big boobs it will fit nicely x
