anatomicals and rotation. ..
My big fear having anatomicals is rotation and I'm wondering when is the safe period? Can they rotate any time or is the risk only until they adhere to the pocket?

Re: anatomicals and rotation. ..
I think I've answered my own question... 2 weeks I found after that the implant is meant to adhere to the breast pocket. I was kinda worrying if I took my sports bra off it was rotate if I was a bit carried away during sex or something haha I'm 6 weeks now so looks like I'm out of he danger period...

I was told 12 weeks until I can lift anything heavy but 4 weeks I had to be careful about rotation. I think you would have to do something silly for them to rotate. Xx

As long as the pocket isn't over dissected you're well over the timing of concern Loui.
I look at it this way babe.
IF your implants, or mine or any one else's for that matter with an anatomical implant were to have one rotate, in the grand scheme of things when you compare it to other complications you could have, rotation is nothing hun!
It's a simple matter of manually turning it back and if it were to persist the very worst that would happen would be to just open up the scar on the crease, cut away the old scar, tighten up the pocket so it's no room for movement, stitch you back up and that's it.
It's not really a big deal hun and I 'think' with a risk of 0.2% you can pretty much relax because it is quite a rare thing to happen especially with textured and polyeurothane implants which do adhere to the Breast tissue. Xx

The surgeon is supposed to be quiet precise with the pocket for anatomicals. I think you would have to not do as you are told and really over do it for the implant to turn. I think as cookie says, the other complications are far more common. I think it's just the thought of it xx

They are any rotation we've seen however have been because of the surgeons error and a simple pocket revision did sort the problem out. Xx

Thanks it was more of a concern for me as I went from a different implant x

Hi Lou, it was a concern for me too, as it's my first BA. I kept on checking when I woke up in the morning to see if they were still the correct shape for the first 4 weeks. Xx

Do you think it's down to a surgeon that has not got that much experiance in placing anatomical implants cookie? Some surgeons just tend to use rounds? Xx

Ummmm, I think sometimes it can be a genuine error caused by the surgeon. There's no surgeon who can hand on heart say they got it right every single time. That even goes for the best ones and why aftercare is so important.
But for the majority - ABSOLUTELY They don't have a clue but if the patients happy to have anatomicals the surgeon will give it a bash!
This is why we her at Breast Buddies do try and push for women to research so much. There are surgeons/doctors out there with no skills in these procedures and the women are little more than guinea pigs! The tools are all there for us to check and it takes minutes to do this on the GMC register a) making sure the surgeons name is actually on the register b) that the surgeon is on the specialist register for plastic surgery...want more? Look for surgeons with a FRCS (plast) qualification. This is the highest qualification to have in plastic surgery.
If you look to BAAPS though you don't need that research even if it only does take minutes, I always check anyway though, but BAAPS is an assurance that you're geeting a fully qualified doctor who's interest is boobs!
I know you didn't need to know all that Anne but I just put it out there for others to read if they were interested. X
Re: anatomicals and rotation. ..
Hi cookie, Its nice to know these things. I'm not experianced at all. I don't have experiance in having consultations with a non BAAPS surgeon. So lucky for me I have only experianced the best. That's why this forum is so great. If I had round implants put in, I wouldn't have a clue. You only tend to reseRch the implants you have. Well I did anyway. I knew my surgeon was experianced with anatomicals and rounds. And is also a specialist in breast cancer etc so I felt in very safe hands. Xxx
