Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
Thanks ladies!
I'm in such an annoying situation where I've never been so sure I want a BA but it's not a great time financially for me.
This time last yr I bought my own house after splitting up with hubby 3yrs previous. I've now got some cc debt I need to shift before I can think about any other debt. And as I've mentioned before I need to get a new boiler which is such bad timing.
I never got push presents either - although a divorce would be nice lol ;D
I'm just like a petulant child - I want new boobs NOW *stamps feet*
xx

It's so hard, for years it felt out of reach and not even worth considering for me. You will get there though and it will be worth the effort. Just try and be sensible and take all the money saving tips you can get online! And in the meantime you can do LOADS of research so your ready and prepared and in the best possible position!

Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
Awww scotsgirl - do you know what. You WILL have your boobs, but like for many of us, it's just a waiting game till we can afford them. My surgery is less than a month away now and I'm still squirrelling the pennies away to pay for it.
If you want them though you could maybe do as I did. Sit down and work out your monthly outgoings and see what you can sensibly afford to put away each month. Once you've done that you can work out a saving plan for your new boobs. Also asking for money instead of pressies for birthday and Christmas this helps lots too, it's all for a good cause lol.
You'll be surprised how quickly you can mount up that money if you're determined. That means no impulse shoe buys lol...you really have to reign it in. It's hard when you want other things I won't lie. But when you're focused - you CAN do this.
If it would help, maybe add a savings ticker to your signature. You'll be surprised at how encouraging this can be and whilst you're saving you could be researching, so when it's timle for your Breast Augmentation. You'll KNOW exactly what to be asking at consultations, a good idea of who you want to see and where and have pics and notes all prepared to take in the consultations with you.
Just a suggestion showing how I saved for mine hun - you may have other ideas of your own to get what you want

Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
Me and my fella were remortgaging last year and borrowed some extra for home improvements and my boobies too so at 41 my dream was suddenly a reality!! We have since opened a savings account called the boob account to save towards the next pair in case it's sooner rather than later as I don't ever want to be without boobs again!!

Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
I paid for mine from cash received from an equal pay settlement at work, have always wanted a BA & having that extra cash there decided to go for it, now have a monthly pay deduction going into savings account for any future boob op.
Little things can make a difference when saving , like selling unwanted items on ebay , questioning when buying things ( do you really need it & are there less expensive alternatives) satalite TV package ( do you need the package your on, change to a cheaper one).. ..etc
You will get there & in doing lots of research in the meantime you'll be ready to go when the time comes. XXX

Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
Just a note to all ladies pondering how to pay - it's always a good idea to put some amount on a credit card, as then if the company goes under or something happens, you can get the full invoice amount back from the card company. So say you just put your £500 deposit on the card and the rest cash for a £4k op, then the week before your op the company goes bust, you can claim back all £4k from the credit card. BUT that credit card has to be in your name, or you're the primary card holder. You will not be able to claim if you are a secondary joint card holder. Hope that helps!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] would this be your first credit card? If so, then £1200 is normally a kicking point. My first at 19 was only £800! Little things can help though, like rental history, if you have a land line number. I always think it's worth having one just to put little amounts on and pay off in full so you get a good credit score. Then the limit will creep up. You don't have to spend it, but it's nice to know its there in an emergency.
I sound like I'm advocating credit cards, but of course, only use them responsibly and within your means!

Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
That's really good advice Charlii. Hubs has just reminded me we're not paying all cash this time. It's all coming off his card for this very reason.Charlii wrote:Just a note to all ladies pondering how to pay - it's always a good idea to put some amount on a credit card, as then if the company goes under or something happens, you can get the full invoice amount back from the card company. It's a good job I have him watching my back lately. I'd forget my name if I wasn't constantly called for "muuuuuuuum, did you manage to iron all my clothes" muuuuuuuuum, can I borrow your dress for tonight I promise not to ruin it?" muuuuuum, ive left your dress on the bed but sorry mum it needs to go the cleaners - it wasn't me though. Hope the stain comes out"
My names not mum either is it....
Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
My husband had a quite substantial raise, about the same time his student loan payments finished. So we asked the bank man for a loan. It worked out better for us to get a 7500 loan than a 5000 loan or a 5000 credit card.
We've just kept the rest in a different account as we didn't need it (minus a new bike for hubs) :) well,he had to have somthing, I felt bad lol x x

Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
I took voluntary redundancy at work and got £5k, stuck it in an ISA over a few years to make it £5,500 and left it in the medium/high interest account until I was ready (mentally 100% sure etc) to go for it!
Going to start saving again just in case anything goes wrong or fancy a new pair at some point!!!
You'll get there hun, its horrible when it feels unreachable. I always felt like that before I got the pay out, just thought it would never be possible because there would be 'more important things' to spend that kind of money on. Then I realised one day, what's more important than me being finally happy? So I went for it. Cookie and the girls have given some great advice xx

Re: Would you mind sharing how you paid for your boobs
I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to reply, my mobile is company mobile and it had a 'content lock' but only on this thread for some reason.. How funny calling Vodafone 'can I have the content control unlocked please' - 'yes Sarah you can now view adult content and gamble now' :) thanks!
Yes Charlii I have had a credit card since I was 18.. I've used it about 5 times.. Just to have a credit rating (my dad warned me about this). I have been renting the flat for about 3 months and I also got a bed on finance (0% 2 years) (which killed me!!) again just to get a better credit rating.
I couldn't believe it when my dad said I need to owe money and pay it back to have a good rating, so maybe a 0% credit card will improve my rating even more!!
I have been on the money expert website but I haven't used the calculator to check my 'limit' I will take a look today.. Thank you all!! X
