Re: DRAINS ??
Not everyone will have drains, it depends on the surgeons choice really. They should inform you beforehand if they are going to use them though, or just ask. They're nothing to be scared of thought, plenty of girls have them.

Re: DRAINS ??
I had drains, I think it's to collect blood and fluid around the implants. Mine were in overnight and taken out the next morning. They didn't hurt, we're just a bit cumbersome and got in the way a bit It didn't hurt when they were taken out, just a weird sensation x

Re: DRAINS ??
I had drains with one of my ops babe.
They're used by some surgeons, predominately for revision really due to the higher risk of infection to remove as much fluid from the Breast as possible. This is what they look like:
They don't hurt at all just as the ladies above have said, if you need the loo it's a pain having to take the drains with you. They're more a pain in the ass than a pain as such lol.
If your surgeon hasn't mentioned that you'll be having drains to aid your recovery though it's likely you won't have them at all, because using drains for primary surgeries is all about surgeons choice. Some surgeons believe they're helpful, others not, it's as simple as that.
I've had surgeries without them and surgery with. I found no difference in the amount of fluid I had post-op at all. Xx

Re: DRAINS ??
I had them in for 48 hours and I am the biggest wimp ever! They aren't painful though. I was so worried about having them out so they gave me oral morphine first!! It was absolutely fine though. You'll be fine either way!

Re: DRAINS ??
I had drains, my surgeon said he always uses them with unders. I just took his word for it. He said in the unlikely event I hadn't lost enough blood (or too much I can't remember now lol) I would have to go back to threatre the following morning.
They sounded scary but they really weren't an issue. Had to remember to gran them when I went to the loo, other than that they were fine.
