Is anyone else feeling sicky? Empty Is anyone else feeling sicky?

Post by lairyfairie 9th January 2015, 3:17 pm

I don't know whether I have a bug or it's the after effects of my surgery. I have a really fuzzy headache, ears are crackling, swollen glands and waves of feeling nauseous. I am achey all over - not just boobs and back but legs too.

Funny thing is, my boobs are swollen and tender, but not in much pain around that area.

I am feeling so sorry for myself but keep having to have a word with myself to woman up.

Is anyone else bugged up or is it definitely the surgery?

There's so much going around at the moment, all my children were a tad poorly just before Xmas with the whole cough, sore throat and fever.

Sounds like you've got a bug are you still taking anti bs for ba ? Not that they'd  work on a virus anyways? X

Day 3 post-op! This is the day when most of us along with day four feel the worst on our recovery.

If you're feeling so unwell babe do check your temperature. If it's high you will have been given a number to call from your hospital. It's very possible you may just have a viral infection as Mrsball suggested, but with you having nausea, the fuzzy head and discuss your symptoms with the professionals.

Hope you feel better soon babe. Day 3 can make you feel really crappy, but do watch for that temperature. Xx

I think it must be a combination. The practice manager called me for her daily chat with me and said so too, she advised to cut right back on cocodamol, get some vit c and loads of protein and call her over wkend if I need anything. At least it's not my boobies hurting tho I am just practicing being a robot to make sure I don't pull anything x

Days 3 and 4 for me were not fun!  Day 5 (xmas day), was OK, took it nice and easy, day 6 though I felt exactly how you are describing now, but couldn't stop shivering  for about 2 hrs.  The following day I felt OK again!  It's a total rollercoaster! xx

I'm day 3 post op and feeling really sick, and faint. Just washed my hair with the help of my boyfriend was ok, but legs were killing me. At the moment I take 1 ibroprfen 3x a day, 2 co-codomal 8x a day and 1 antibiotic 2x a day. As I'm not in pain should I reduce co-codomal? X x

Glad you can manage on paracetamol mrs roger   I did too as I can't take co codamlol. Nor any strong painkiller .

Ice packs help as an instant relief and will also take swelling down.

Don't take Ibrorofen unless your clinic says it's ok, not this early post op. X

My nurse just said if codeine makes you sick ease off it, then use paracetamol instead. ive only got 2 more days left of ibroprfen, but I wouldn't risk taking something else that the nurse hasn't mentioned. Phone your clinic and they'll advise hun x x

Ibroprofen is a blood thinner, it can reduce the clotting effect that why it's advised not to be taken straight after a ba, I think it's around 2 weeks. X though ring your clinic and they may advise diffrently x

I was prescribed ibuprofen immediately after op. I guess it depends on surgeon and if you have any other risk factors. Emma I would say if you're not in pain try and cut the co-codamol totally and switch for 500g paracetamol instead. Co-codamol contains paracetamol so whatever you do, don't take both. It's the codeine in it that can make you feel sick and also constipates you. If in doubt phone clinic or speak to a pharmacist!

Hi Emma - how are you feeling? I hope you are feeling better. The cocodamol was making  me lightheaded and weird feeling so I cut down- like you I wasn't actually in any pain just a bit uncomfortable at first. BY day 4 I was on a bit of paracetamol and Ibuprofen ,only morning an night and by day 7 I was med free. Have you cut yours down more now and are you having any pain? The binder is a bit of a nightmare - I keep messing with it worrying its too tight/loose etc.

Mrs Rogers- Is just paracetamol working for you? DId you mention that you are allowed to take nurofen as that's ibuprofen? HOw are you getting on? I kept feeling ok 1 day then terrible the next. I think that as we have had surgery, our immune system must be a bit under pressure with our healing which is why I was getting horrible headaches, blocked sinuses etc as it made it easier for me to pick up a bug.It didn't turn into anything major but kept coming and going for days.
Are you in a binder or just support bra?
I thought you just click on the friend request to accept? Maybe ask Cookie?

I'm feeling a lot better now, I still have paracentomal every 4 hours, and ibroprofen 3 times a day, antibiotics twice a day. I finish all on weds. Did you have 2 binders hun? I've got one on top of boobs, support bra then this massive binder from chest to top of stomach. Really doing my head in, googled the bra I've got on and it cost £135, that gave me a shock, it was included in my price x x
