Morning ladies, day 4and what a contrast to day 2 and 3  dance

A couple of questions:

I bought a Macon pre op in large 36 as that was the band size I thought I was. Turned out I measured 33 snuggly though so anticipated it being for for the initial swelling but that I'd soon need to get a tighter one. Thing is, its gone loose around the band already and wrinkly along the top with a slight gape under the arms. I have just remeaaured band so I can TRY and get out and get another today, but I'm now measuring a 31....that's a whole 2 inches less than the very snug 33 just a few days ago. My belly does look 7 months pregggers at the mo (I'm OK with that, was expecting it and it will go), but basically has my band fat dropped to my belly temporarily? Is that even possible?

I say I'll TRY and get a new bra today, but I'm at the mercy of others wanting to venture to tesco on Xmas eve (nearest shop with sports bras without venturing into town) and understandably no one is keen as its carnage in there! So will I be OK until maybe boxing day or the day after? Hate shopping on boxing day...I feel reaponsible for preventing people in retail from getting just 2 days off to enjoy the festive period!  Just worried I'm not getting the right support though.

I did buy a chEap primark one before op...but ouchy tried that on last night and boobs had zero support it was uncomfortable!! So that's going right in the bin!

Xx

P.s happy christmas eve all!! dance

hmm, tricksy this one...I would not recommend you going out today or 26th without full body armour! Can you order something online? Or send someone out for you?

The weight wouldn't have dropped to your belly, that's not possible! You're flat and straight across the back right? Swelling does tend to make its way downwards as it drains, but if your coming up smaller, and there's no way the swelling has gone yet...I'm stumped!

Pop the measure across the fullest part of your breasts and minus the difference from your band. This is a ROUGH guide only, and is not as good as being fitted, but in a pinch to give you a guide. Inch difference is 1A, 2B, 3C, 4D, 5DD, 6E etc. At a guess, I'd get a 34DD and 32E to try (don't quote me!)

In the meantime, can you put a stich in the bra? I think you'll be ok as long as your not moving much, but you do need to get into a properly supportive one asap. Very do next day free Collect+ delivery, so it'll go to your local post office or qwik-e-mart, which will have a lot less bustle than Tesco or in town! I imagine if you buy today online, you'll get it 26/27.

Don't worry about the typos - lots of us are guilty of this.....especially me lol Blush

The reduction of band width isn't because your fat has dropped to your belly lol. It's simply the loss of swelling. Your belly is a whole other matter linked to the GA in your system and bloats you up and can make you constipated also. This will settle down though so don't worry.

Personally, I'd avoid supermarket brands. Just as you found with the Primark one, budget support bras just don't have the support you need and after a few washes they're even worse. It's worth paying a little more for the comfort and quality of bra, after all, you're going to be in it for quite some time yet so you want it to last. They cost (£29 for two bras, so just £14.50 per bra which is a bargain for their quality.

If you're looking for budget bras, M&S do a great pack of two high impact bras, and to save yourself going out if you can maybe get someone to get your bra for you? Or go as you say Boxing Day as long as you're up to it. You'll be fine for a couple of days.

If you know you're 31 inches round the band, then you're now a 32 band, so it's just the cup you need a little guesswork on, from your Avi though you look to me like an E cup but I could be very wrong, which is why going for a fitting is best but if you can't get out, you can't get out and you just have to do the best you can and hope they fit. If you can afford two sizes to try on at home and leave labels and that on and keep the receipt, you can then take back the bras that don't fit.

It would also be advisable to pick up a pack of bra extenders also. Although the swelling has reduced today, it may flare up again if you overdo things at all and so the extenders popped on your bra can be heavenly!

Hope you manage to get yourself comfy in a new bra soon. Xx

It has me totally stumped too! shrug I'm only measuring a 4inch difference across my widest part, and that's with super puffy nips :( so by my early calculations based on this mornings measurements thats a 32d or 34 c...that drop and fluff best be as good as I hear :/ mum is coming by shortly to wash my hair so I'll ask her very very nicely to take a drive. She isn't going to be happy but my band keeps flipping up now! Xx

So you're coming up 31/35? I'd go with the 32D and some back extenders, Like Cookie says above, the swelling can come back.

Yours are looking just like mine did at the moment, pointy and puffy! I promise once they're on the move, they'll look like normal boobs and measure out a bit bigger!

God I'm being dense and can't count! Coming up 31/36 god that one inch makes me feel better...really hope I don't go back up to 33 though...still baffled about that!! Mum is not pleased but I really need to get one today! My left is looking lovely but my right is definitely lower... The band isn't even touching my skin in the middle! Xx

Ah, they'll leapfrog down, but they'll even out eventually. So 32DD with extenders just in case (they cost around £6 on ebay, I got mine from anne summers). If the band isn't touching in the middle, I would try and get something today, even if it is something crappy that will do the job for 3days until you can get into town or have something delivered. All the support comes from the band. Do you have a Matalan nearby? That might be a good bet?

Nearest shop is Tesco that mum will be prepared to go.  Fortunately it's a super super store so does have an entire sports wear range, including shock absorbers that are around £30.  Hopefully they'll have one in stock, but like you say, get something now to tie me over for 3 days max, and then I'll be able to venture to m&s for their bras.

Wish me luck...if I don't make it alive have a great christmas haha Hysterical xxx

The shops do tend to stock a smaller of sizes so you may want to warn your mum to get a 34d if she can't find a 32dd. Not ideal but worn on the tightest setting probably better then what you have now? Just didn't want her to come home empty handed! Then you can do an online order!

Honestly, especially today, no one is going to be looking if you're holding your breasts in! They're more likely to be staring at the girl with blue hair (she say from experience) or fighting over sprouts!!

Let us know how you got on / if you survived good luck

There wasn't a 32dd and the 34d didn't feel snug enough on the band. I do think the 32d cup isn't cup big enough but its keeping them snug until I can get another one :) x
