Bra sizes and swelling post op
My PS doesn't want me to wear a bra the first week post op. He recommends I start after my first week check-up. I'd like to buy a Macom, I measure 29.5 so that would mean that I need a small (32). If I don't wear one for the first week, can I skip getting a medium (34), will the initial swelling go down, before I start wearing a bra?

Re: Bra sizes and swelling post op
Hi,
Post op I was a 34F (normally a 32 band pre op) and even with the F cup the medium was too big! I definitely think you can skip getting a medium.
If you do want a medium tho I have a 2nd hand one for sale. I bought it off one of the girls on here when I thought I would need it to allow for swelling.
My swelling went down within a week so I moved from a 34F to a 32FF quite quickly.

Re: Bra sizes and swelling post op
I had the most swelling around my ribs and had to wear a bigger band size for 3 weeks as I was so tender. Maybe you could get a 32 in the macom and a cheap one to wear in a bigger size from Tesco, they are really good and really comfy sports bras.
Re: Bra sizes and swelling post op
Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll buy the small Macom. And if I need a bigger one for a little while I'll just buy a cheap sports one, I don't want to spend more than a tenner if I don't plan on wearing it for long. I think since I don't need it for the first week I might buy the small one ahead of time anyhow since I'll wear it sooner or later anyhow. I'll give it a quick try, and if it still feels too tight when I have to start wearing one, I'll quickly get a cheaper one in a bigger size. The size I'll need should be fairly easy to find if I go by what size I wore at my consult when I tried on the implants. I fit snuggly in a 32d sports bra with implants, so that would mean a 34c or 34d depending on swelling if I needed to go up a band size, easy sizes to find. Some of my regular bras are 34c atm, but I don't fill them nicely at all, huge gap xxx
