2 week check with surgeon
Hi all. So I had my 2 week PO check with my surgeon, he is very pleased with my healing and boobs. He wants me to start massage of the implants and scars. He is also happy for me to sunbath topples on holiday in 2 weeks as long as I use sunblock on my scars. Of course I'm aware the skin may burn easily. My next check is at the end of January. He said as long as I wear a bra with good support then that's fine too. He won't measure me yet as still have some swelling. More photos taken today by him so I can get them all at my next appointment. Over all very pleased. He said to my husband you ought to be very pleased with them .

Re: 2 week check with surgeon
It's pretty unusual to be asked to massage your boobs at 2 weeks post-op because textured/polyeurothane Breast implants don't require massage, quite the opposite - due to their textured shell the stability helps them adhere to the Breast pocket.
If your breasts however are tight, as yours must be, only then would massage be required so hoping that helps yours.
Good to read your surgeons happy and happy holidays hun. Xx

Re: 2 week check with surgeon
I don't know if they are tight really but he asked me to massage to soften them so I will do as I'm told . If something goes wrong then that will be his fault. Only to massage the top though xx

Im sure he knows what he is doing Anne, or rather what he is telling you to do. After care advice is fully tailored to the individual, whats right for your textured might not be for someone else's :)

LOL Absolutely!anneritchley wrote:I don't know if they are tight really but he asked me to massage to soften them so I will do as I'm told . If something goes wrong then that will be his fault. Only to massage the top though xx
I absolutely wasn't suggesting you shouldn't massage Anne, I would never suggest anybody ignore their surgeons instructions. I've been all over the forum since 2009 telling women their surgery is tailored to their own body type.
I was just explaining why you would have been told to when nobody else has been told to. It also stops other women massaging when they see you have so they think they will too (ive seen it all here lol)
Re: 2 week check with surgeon
Hi cookie. I wasn't thinking you were giving me different instructions. I value your opinion. My surgeon said gentle massage in one direction at the top of my boob. I do t really understand it all myself. The only thing I don't feel comfortable with at the moment is massaging my scars. It feels a bit too soon. I wish I had the wealth of experiance you have cookie. I bet you have seen some shockers on here in your time ? Xxx

Yes for one I won't be going topless as it's a Muslim country and I will be covering them. That sounds painful. The surgeon says I can go topless but don't fancy that much. Xxxxxx

Re: 2 week check with surgeon
I can fully understand you feeling it's a bit too soon. In all honesty 2 weeks massaging scars is a first for me and I've been here a long time....but, your surgeon, your body and you must follow their instructions
I shouldn't imagine you were advised you could use a moisturiseror or an oil too to help with the massage?
The earliest I've seen this advised is 4 weeks post-op.
I'd be very gentle indeed this early Anne. Don't dive in and massage them, having a fear of scars is very common so just take your time to get to know them first hun. Just start by running your finger tips over the scar. When you feel comfortable doing that, then very gentle circular motions with your finger tips will help to flatten out scars. A moisturiser or an oil (no need for expensive ones, any will do) IF you've been given the all clear to use them they will make the massage much easier for you. But if you haven't been given the all clear due to the risk of infection then don't use anything on them at all lovely. Xxx

No he didn't suggest any oil. Etc. I think I'm going to call him again and I don't want to touch scars yet xx

Re: 2 week check with surgeon
I'm sure he won't mind if you don't feel ready to massage so early Anne.
I actually never massaged my scars at all when I had my first Breast Augmentation. We weren't advised to back then and they were tiny little, flat scars that could only be seen if I pointed them out. So no rush if you're not ready babe. I think your surgeon will fully understand. Xx
