tape under new boobs
I just wondered because lots of people seem to have tape on their scars after surgery I didn't have any, just the glue...is that because I didn't have big implants or overs or was my surgeon just super neat?

Hi I. Not quiet sure. I think it's down to individual surgeons what they do . Everyone seems to be so different with dressings. Y boobs were mummified and others don't have that. Xxxx

It's just coz that's what your surgeon wanted. Simple as that. It'll vary girl to girl, surgeon to surgeon, clinic to clinic. There's no right or wrong, or specific way for a different op.

Re: tape under new boobs
just seems odd though that some are mummified as you say and there's a big reveal and mine were totally exposed from the word go...nothing covering them except the sports bra!

Re: tape under new boobs
I see you had a private surgeon. It does seem the glue is the preferred means of dressings for the majority of their patients.
I will having glue this time too (using a private surgeon) but when using a commercial clinic I had dressings over the incisions.
With glue over your incisions you can shower from the get go. With dressings over your incisions you have to wait at least a week before showering because of the need to keep the dressings dry and the risk of infection. Xx

Re: tape under new boobs
do the plasters cover traditional stitches rather than glue then?

Re: tape under new boobs
I'm unsure really if it does replace stitches rrr.
But it's a good possibility....I once gashed my head after a very drunken night out lol the doc simply glued my head back together. It's pretty cool stuff! Xx

Re: tape under new boobs
I had glue and then thin steri strips over the top. But on a different occasion I had a lump on my shoulder removed and the incision was closed using the same method (internal dissolvable stitches and glue) but I did have a waterproof dressing over. Both at spire. So I guess it all depends on surgeons preferances.

When I had my arm op, they stitched inside and glue your skin together, I had my cast changed 2 weeks later, and had a look and my skin was already stuck together. X x

I used a private surgeon, he used disolvable stitches and then a waterproof plaster so I could shower whenever I wanted :) x

Re: tape under new boobs
I hope so, I feel so ungrateful with my moaning! Im bit OCD in all seriousness so that doesn't help.
I will help where I can for sure :)
No, I had rounds, we didn't even discuss anatomicals or conicals, my PS said he usually uses conicals in women who are borderline for an uplift so I didn't really think about it x
