Going braless...
So something I didn't specifically ask my PS so appreciate I may need to but thought I'd ask here first!
I used to spend a lot of time braless esp after work and always at night, what is the deal with braless post op?
I'm very comfy generally with no morning boob if that makes a difference?

Re: Going braless...
I used to go braless a lot pre-op.
My op was 4 days ago and I didn't wear a bra for the first 48 hours or so.
I'm now wearing one most of the time, especially at night, but sometimes I go without for comfort, but wear a top that is snug so they don't move about too much.
My main concern at the moment is protecting the wounds so they heal properly. Once they have healed I'd like to go braless sometimes, depending on what I'm wearing. But I do wonder if not wearing a bra will encourage them to head south sooner, so it's getting the balance between short-term comfort and effect (in backless dresses for example) versus long-term perkiness!
And I won't be wearing a bra to sleep in, once they have healed properly!
You are now 8 weeks post-op, so I'm sure you have healed properly already. If you think it's ok then it probably is!

Re: Going braless...
If you've been given the all clear by your surgeon you are then free to treat them how you wish.
In keeping your boobs supported in a bra you are delaying them sagging which all boobs do at some point whether they are natural or augmented.
You do want to enjoy your boobs however wearing strapless dresses, bikinis etc it's getting the balance of enjoying them/ showing them off & looking after them by supporting them to keep them looking good for longer. XXX

Re: Going braless...
It's advisable to wear a sports bra to bed every night post op.. even after a long amount of time. I still wear mine 2 years later. It's best not go bra-less often.. to keep them looking good and prevent sagging. x

Re: Going braless...
I thought that might be the case, I have to admit I don't feel comfy bra less and have got used to wearing one especially at night so will just carry on as I am. Miss my skin being able to breath though if that makes sense.
Thanks as always xx

Re: Going braless...
I know what you mean. I always see it as I wouldn't pay lots of money on an expensive dress and then throw it at the bottom of my wardrobe all crumpled, so why would I pay 4k for boobs and then let them hang out all the time and not look after them properly? x

Re: Going braless...
Once you get the all clear to treat your new boobs as your own then you have a choice.
You can go bra less if this is what you want to do and you find this most comfortable.
The same goes for wearing bras. It's entirely your decision and you wear what makes 'you' most happy.
Myself...I wear bras 24/7 unless there's reason for me not to be wearing one e.g strapless dress, or anything else I want to go bra less in, or if hubs n me fall asleep after rumpy pumpy lol.
The main reason I wear bras at (sports) night and quite a lot through the day too if I'm not meeting anyone is to give them as much support as possible hoping to maintain the aesthetic look of my surgery for as long as possible.
I don't stress over it if I have gone bra less for a couple of days, but it's like second nature for me now to be wear a bra. Xx

Re: Going braless...
I've always disliked wearing bras, and before the op I could often get away with not wearing one, but now I find I NEED to wear one. But I do find them uncomfortable, and it's nice to give my boobs a little bit of breathing space. Just now I have taken off my bra as I am sitting down not moving - but I am using my left arm to cradle them, haha!

Re: Going braless...
Rhy, I don't wanna sound like mom but if you're surgeon has said to stay in your bra, you really need to. It's not about movement that you might see or feel, it's about keeping the implant stable on the inside so it adheres properly to the pocket. Plus, a surgeon will know these things when they examine you, and if they find you've gone against their post op instructions, they will whip your aftercare away quicker than you can say tits.

Re: Going braless...
I wouldn't go against anything my surgeon told me, but I have now swapped to a more comfy bra

Re: Going braless...
Thanks again!
Charlii it's funny how it's already 2nd nature after being a very rare wearer of bras!
I feel comfy when I take it off for showering etc but have not worn one for any longer than that so have no idea how I would actually feel.

Re: Going braless...
Once you're a bit further down the road, it'll feel 'easier' to go braless for a bit but don't forget - for every cc, that's a gram of weight, they're not light things! I'll whip mine off of an evening, but they do get heavy and achy after a couple hrs. There's a lot of healing going on inside for up to a year. Plus the more support you give them, they better they'll look in the long run!
