Year old boobs and gym advise required
Hello ladies! Long time no speak!
I haven't posted for a while although I do log on and have a read quite regularly just to see what is happening!
It is now over a year since my BA and I don't know where the year has gone.
I am pleased (and lucky) to say everything has gone amazingly smoothly so far and I hope it continues. I am very pleased with the size and shape.
I occasionly wake up with morning boob if I have slept heavily on my front, even tho I wear a sports bra in bed, but most of the time everything is great.
I work out at the gym, although I am a little nervous still with weights for my arms and chest. I know from reading on here in the past that ladies who do lots of working out tend to have overs but at the time of my BA I was only an occasional gym user. As I have unders am I ok to work my arms and chest with light weights? I have worked out since 8 weeks after my BA but rarely do upper body stuff. However I have just started a body pump class and am doing a bit more in the gym with the weight machines, but am paranoid that I could damage myself or pull my chest muscles too much that would affect the look of my boobs as they are under the muscle? I am only working out twice a week but it is more intense than I have done in years! Can anyone advise me please?
Thank you muchly,
Shell

You can treat your boobs exactly as you would should they be you're natural ones.
The discussions on here about placements and heavy gym users is all down to something called 'Implant Displacement'. What this is, is when the implant is placed partially under the muscle, if the muscle covering the implant is tight there will be a risk of implant displacement.
If you had this you'd be able to see your implant rise as you contract your muscle. Many women who have this aren't bothered by it at all. But there some who's displacement is so bad they can't open a door, lift a pan, or anything at all that would contract the muscle that would make the implant jump Seashell.
So lift weights, do press ups etc and don't worry about it at all. Because you haven't used those muscles for a good while though you may find if you over do it your boobs will really ache, so it would be advisable to listen to your body. Take things slow and steady and you'll soon be fine to lift whatever you want with no discomfort whatsoever. X

Hi Shell, good to hear from you!
Firstly, it wont be morning boob in the same sense as immediately post op, that's more to do with swelling and blood flow. Its likely just regular aches from sleeping on your front, all normal.
As for the weights, I'm sure light weights twice a week is fine. I assume they've dropped and settled OK by now? I think if you were really going for it, trying to build muscle rather than tone, it would be an issue, but if its more for toning purposes, I'd think you wouldn't be lifting anything that's going to damage you. They might jump around a bit while you're doing it though!
One of the gym bunnies will hopefully be along soon to offer some better advice, Im allergic to gym's Im afraid !!

I can move my boobs and they change shape slightly when I flex my chest muscles, but I don't experience it with general lifting. I did feel it pull when doing the bench pressing and press ups today and made sure I stopped regularly so as not to overdo it. Today was my first attempt at body pump so i will certainly pay for it tomorrow!!!
Thanks so much for your advise Cookie and Charlii. I feel much better for checking with you guys.

I had unders and after my first BA (I was 2 years post op) I did upper body in the gym, weights, chest press etc and found it was too much so I stopped in the end. Wasn't worth the pulled muscle/achey feeling in my chest/boob area. You might be fine though x

My PS knows how much I train and how important this is to me and went for partials for me anyway due to breast make up. I'm on a slow return back to the gym which is hard but have had the all clear for a return to normality x

I'm 9 months post op and started Bodypump at 4 weeks but didn't do anything involving raising my arms till surgeon gave me the go ahead at 6 weeks but it only took a couple of weeks to get back up to my normal weights . I do Insanity and Grit so I had to wait a bit before fast pressups , tricep pushups and burpees , it was defo a strange sensation but now I almost forget Ive had a BA

Re: Year old boobs and gym advise required
Iv had my implants 2 and a half years and I have always felt a bizarre tight/ pulling pain when iv lifted anything that requires me to use my pectoral muscles (I have partials). The feeling really is horrible it makes me feel sick, it doesn't hurt although it feels uncomfortable, as if my muscle is going to tear Like I say its not painful but the feeling is horrible, really goes through me. Even when I'm driving and I put the car in reverse, that's enough to get the weird pulling /tight sensation x

Re: Year old boobs and gym advise required
Well I have continued with body pump and really do enjoy it. I do feel it pull across my chest when doing bench presses and push ups still, but I keep my weights light. I have to stop regularly but I think that is because I am so weak in my upper body rather than anything else.
I wonder if as my muscles strengthen, will I feel more movement when my chest muscles are used or flexed?
Thanks for all your comments ladies!
