Nipples sitting low
Evening ladies! Im around 6 weeks post op now and i cant help feel my nipples are sitting a little low. Ive still a little dropping to go especially my rightie, so my first question is...
I can ditch my binder now but do u think i should keep it on for another a couple of weeks to help my rightie as theres a significant difference to my left??
And also, would u say there are still lots of VISABLE changes after 6 weeks ? I know theres still alot going on and wonder if the whole nipple thing is the norm?
xx

Hi Hun....
Stick to your PS advice regarding the binder. Also I know that LOTS of ladies drop later on and then the lower pole fills out lifting the nipple.
I had Very little changes from day 1 to be honest...my nips sit slightly low but this is due to my natural starting breast being the same! If that makes sense. You are still very early in recovery though so don't worry, perhaps email your Ps about the binder with some pics of your concern.

Re: Nipples sitting low
I have to keep reminding myself its still early days! I had my op 6 weeks ago last monday, ditched the binder tuesday and put back on today... so ill take it off again! I hated it for so long especially through the heat wave but now it feels strange without it, kinda like loosing your comfort blanket.
Ill give it another couple of weeks then maybe update my picturetrail and see what you girls think x

They will definitely keep changing! Can't advise you on the strap but I have a stubborn rightie and even comparing a photo at 6 weeks and 8 weeks you can see there is slightly more fullness below the nipple!

Re: Nipples sitting low
Absolutely there will be visible changes. You won't start to see the final result until at least 6months. If you've done your time with the band, ditch it, you don't need it anymore. Stick with your surgeons instructions (they did me ok!). The nipple will look low because they're still a full D shape. Once they start dropping and fluffing, the nipple will move higher on the mound of the breast. Give it some more time.

Re: Nipples sitting low
If you remove your binder lovely before given the all clear from your surgeon you could jeopardise your aftercare and it's simply not worth it.
Your boobs are going to continue going through their recover over a year or more so you have a long way to go yet Sharon.
As your boobs continue to settle and fall down into the pocket you will then find your nipples rise...so don't worry yet Sharon but as always, if you have a 6-12 week assessment coming up soon, then ALWAYS convey your concerns and ensure they're written in your notes. No matter how small the concern may be, it's ALWAYS in your best interest to get them in your notes. Xx

Yeah my surgeon said to stop wearing the binder at 6 weeks, I was debating on wearing it longer but I'm sticking to exactly what he's said and it's history! Thanks everyone x

Ahhh my bad now you have the all clear, it's very likely you'll start seeing your implant moving down now over the next coming weeks and your nipples moving up xx
