Uncomfortable sports bra? Alternative?
I am currently wearing a 34D M&S high impact sports bra with an extender as usually wear a 34 although measured under bust is actually 31.
It feel supportive but is getting quite uncomfortable under the bust. On looking at the bra there is a small stitching area at this point with a seam that I think is causing the issue.
Although it could be that the sizing is wrong? The band is sitting very close under my bust which I've not had an issue with before as had no bust so this might be the way they should sit but obviously not sure.
I was advised that any back adjusting supportive sports bra would be fine so not sure wether this one doesn't fit right or I could do with trying a different style?
Any thoughts on this? Sorry it's rambling!

Re: Uncomfortable sports bra? Alternative?
Hmm, 10 days post I'd say you're still pretty swollen, so maybe stick with a 34 for now on the loosest and take out the extender, but come 2-3wk, def get into a 32.
I know what you mean about not knowing how its meant to fit! I was in 36 pre op, and it was always riding up. Now Ive been fitted, the 32 sits snug and most importantly STRAIGHT across my band line. It'll feel weird at first, but remember, the underwire, or just the cup seams with the sports bra, are meant to sit in the crease, so it might feel higher and tighter at first.
If there's a dodgy seam that can be such a mare. Do you have any wonderweb? Cut a small bit of material from a sheet or something and glue it over the seam if you can, cheap and dirty fix! But I'd wait until your swelling is down before buying anything more for now.

Re: Uncomfortable sports bra? Alternative?
Hmm I'm having similar band problems - usually wear a 30 and I'm finding 32s are WAY too tight. Might be worth going shopping, trying a few different shapes and maybe a larger back size and seeing if anything else feels more comfy? I'm also finding my sports bra (Triaction extreme) a LOT less comfy than my Macom, so might be investing in one of those? x

Don't forget girls, this early they're not going to sit properly in a cupped bra for a while on account of the torpedo-ness, so that could be adding to the discomfort. Plus no one said it'd be a walk in the park! The macom and the shock absorber are good in that sense because they don't have separate cups, they're more of a crop top style, which you may find more comfy.

Re: Uncomfortable sports bra? Alternative?
I really like sports jock bras, they don't have seperate cups/are more crop style like Charlii mentioned, they also don't have to be bought in cupsize like the Macom, are really comfy and supportive AND they come quite far down on the body so they don't touch your incisions or anything, I love mine and I couldn't stand the macom!
Re: Uncomfortable sports bra? Alternative?
Thanks for your replies, I think you're right In that I've never had a bra especially sports bra that's fitted in the crease, and I'm in a sports bra most days for work.
Funnily enough today it's been ok, perhaps not so hot and swollen! And feels looser in the back so may need tightening!
I'll try and hang on in there as am loathed to spend more money as these things aren't cheap esp for these early days!
