Day 5 bath time x
Hi girls,
Well day 4 was probably the worst I was in a lot of pain but have kept on top of the meds and I'm feeling fine today. I have just mostly been laying on the bed in company of my very beautiful 13 year old daughter who has been excellent whilst I've been treated like a princess by my husband bringing me coffee and whatever I want it's great. It has been so hot I've just had some knickers and my support bra on.
Day 5 (today)
I asked my daughter for a chat and asked her would she mind helping me get a wash in a shallow bath. I don't want my husband to see my boobs yet as they are bruised swollen and look very fake stuck on almost. I explained to my daughter and showed her my incisions and said that I can't get these wet and said I can only have the water up to the top of my belly bar she said she would help.
So all I had on was my knickers and support bra anyway so i slipped my knickers off and sat in the bath. Before anyone thinks this is strange or anything like that I gave my daughter the choice she is 13 has boobs and has saw other peoples boobs before and she is so mature and respectable. My daughter helped lower me in and helped me wash my arms and under my arms and my back and stomach. Whilst i washed around my lower areas and legs great team effort. She even took my belly bar out and cleaned it for me bless her xxx I love her so much x
We then drained the water away and helped me out of the bath whilst I got dry and slipped some knickers back on and some joggers.
May I just thank everyone on this forum who has helped me on my journey and is providing me with support and answering my many questions
Love Jess xxx

Glad you managed to get your bath! Bet it was nice in this heat! Baby wipes are great for a quick freshen up too (as are femfresh wipes, which I found when I had mine done)

Bless her! :) not weird at all. I'm 22 and still sit and chat to my mum whilst she's in the bath and vice verse. Happy healing :)

Ahh thanks girls I never thought it was weird because we all have boobs but some women think that there kids shouldn't see them naked let alone touch them. I feel all fresh now. Love my daughter and my boobs and all you girls on here xxx

Don't think it's weird at all. I know a lot of people who say that it encourages kids to be more comfortable with their bodies if we show them that we aren't ashamed and we should all understand that having had, or considering, a BA.
Not being able to wash is worrying me, I shower twice a day and my hair is very fine and gets greasy so quickly.
Hope you feel better soon xx

Kezjb you at be able to shower depending on the stitches etc used! I think i remember you saying you're gojng to spire? I had a baaps surgeon at a spire and had dissolvable stitches and glue do it meant I could shower from day 2 onwards so managed that daily since!

Yes it's a spire or BMI hospital and my surgeon works for spire as well fingers crossed I can, I hate being unclean! :)

It'll depend on your stitches. Some girls have waterproof glue and can shower early. Some have to wait a week, sometimes two. Baby wipes are a godsend, and you can have shallow baths, just not get your incisions Wet. I booked in for a hair wash at the barbers a couple times to feel clean. It's a small sacrifice to make.

It must depend what stitches the surgeon prefers?

Sounds like your daughter is very kind and caring and you have a great relationship. Nothing odd in showing body to each other either.
Kezjb I went with Spire too and I had glue and dissolve-able stitches too. I had a small dressing just over the incision site which was about the size of plaster which was water proof. I just used to shower myself off holding the shower head rather standing directly under the constant water and all was fine. I could wash my hair too over the side of the bath by day 5 as well.

Most BAAPS surgeons do use glue, but if you haven't been advised you can shower from the get go its ALWAYS best to just check first. It only takes a 5 minute phone call to find out
