Re: Herbal sleeping tablets
I'd stop to be honest, just in case, as the valerium and hops could interfere with the GA & painkillers. But give the clinic a ring and double check. Less than a week, exciting!

Re: Herbal sleeping tablets
As other have said better to be safe than sorry and stop taking the nytol until after your op. Even with the nytol you probably won't sleep well anyway with the excitement/build up to your op. XXX

Re: Herbal sleeping tablets
Hiya,
I take herbal sleeping tablets, my surgeon insisted I stopped taking them pre op, so I would think better not take them. I think he said valerian can cause increased bleeding, but I might've got that wrong lol

Re: Herbal sleeping tablets
You'll asked by your surgeon and the anaesthetist if you've taking any medication or herbal/vit supplements in the past week..or two depending on your clinic.
Its best to be honest with them and tell them about the sleeping meds.
They won't cancel your surgery for this. You'll be fine, but honesty is always the best policy so they can tweak any meds you may require during surgery as necessary, IF necessary at all. Xx
