Fake tan....ok as long as you avoid incisions?
Hi ladies,
Hope you're all well.
Can't believe my boobies are a month old already! Really feels like they have always been there! All going fine, bit concerned about my left which has the smaller implant - feel it perhaps should have had the same size as right or that the pocket should be smaller so I have more fullness round my cleavage on that side but going to not think about it and discuss with my surgeon when I see him in 3 weeks!
Anyway my question is regarding spray tanning/fake tan in general. Summer is approaching (although doesn't feel like it today in rainy Dublin!) and be soon time to get the legs out! When is it ok to get a spray tan/use fake tan? Guessing as long as it is not near incisions it is ok...?

Definitely wait until your surgeon gives you the all clear for tanning x

Why can't you have fake tan? Don't get it...

Because your wounds may not be 100% healed. There may be a small opening that the tan could get into and cause infection and complications.

But surely if you cover the wounds it's ok..?

It's a liquid, which will always find a way in. At 4-6wk it should be healed enough to tan with covers, but you have to check with the surgeon as it could invalidate your aftercare.

Not worth the risk I suppose girls!! I'll do my trick of only tanning the areas that are on show which works a treat until you get your kit off at the end of the night!!
