Scars look & feel super sore :(
Just had my shower finally and I must say now my bands off I can really feel my incisions more is that normal? They feel sore and look very bumpy and pink, the scars not very smooth in a line it's like the skins a bit knotted I really hope they heal well has anyone else had this ? xx

Also should all the glue of come off in the shower ? I wet the area and smoothed over it with fingers but still quite a bit of glue there but didn't want to pick at it xx

Don't touch the glue, it will come off in its own time. You shouldn't be soaking the area, just soaping the tops and letting the water run over.
Scars are going to be sore and bumpy a week old. You need to leave them well alone until they are properly healed/closed at around 4-6wks. Then you can start massaging the scars which will help break down the scar tissue. They're not going to be smooth and smart for a fair few months yet.

Don't pick at the glue, it will come off in time on it's own.
Don't panic about incisions either. Have another look at my pics Hun, my incision photos are on there. The first time I saw mine they looked jagged and red and sore but now they look really neat and lovely. X

You can dab with a clean towel, or use a hair dryer on a cool setting as this will dry them nicely. X

Cool hairdryer is your best bet drying them, you don't want to disturb them at all, as it could leave them susceptible to infection.
It's funny, I've had to go through all this with hubs over the last couple weeks with a wound on his back 'it's going to itch, no you can't have a bath, come here let me blow-dry it'!

Try not to worry about your incisions , they can look awful early post op,I know mines did compared to some of the pics I had seen. They looked all jagged looking not nice and straight and you'd have thought a child had stitched them up , they were kind off puckered looking. Once healed they had smoothed and straightened out and are barely visibly, just the finest white line remains . XXX

Just had a look Hun, and yes they will look scary to you Hun, but please don't panic. You have some bruising there too, this will all settle down I promise. What Mirren has said is spot on, they will smooth and straighten out. Just leave them well alone and don't panic. Xx

Re: Scars look & feel super sore :(
I had a numb / tingley arm for about a week and a half after my op. It drove me mad, I was sure that I had done serious damage to my arm and it was going to be like that for ever. But, all of a sudden it just went!
I saw my incisions for the first time this week and mine are all bumpy, I wouldn't worry about it. Yours are bound to be a bit redder as they are a bit fresher too. I was sort of glad I didn't have to see mine for three weeks. x

I didn't get to see my incisions for 3 weeks so they were ok by the time I saw them.
But I'm sure they'll improve now their out of dressings x

Re: Scars look & feel super sore :(
The trapped nerve pain could be from the needles and cannula. I had blood taken before xmas, and because I have the tiny veins of a shrew, they really struggled to get some and hit a nerve in the process. For about 4wks I had shooting pains from my elbow to my thumb, it was terrifying at first, but as the nerve grows back it goes away.
It might also be your body getting used to itself. You naturally want to hunch to protect yourself, so it may be aches and pains from that. Try to ensure you're sitting/standing as straight as you can, and try to stretch out a bit. But not a full on morning stretch, coz that'll be sore!
