How do you decide???
Hi ladies,
Sorry it's a long one, but here's my experience so far...
I've had consultations with 3 different surgeons, all seemed to give me very different opinions. I'm 5'5'' and 10st 5 (size 12). I'm currently an empty 34a/b. My initial thoughts were that I don't want to go too big, maybe a full C/small D and I want the natural look.
Mr Olubowale at Nu Cosmetic Clinic told me my breast tissue was borderline therefore he'd be happy to do unders or overs, which I preferred. He suggested Allergan Naterelle 325-345cc. Cost of £2850 with only 3 months aftercare or £3990 with lifetime aftercare.
Mr Kazzazi from MYA told me to go for unders as I have limited breast tissue. He also said that he thought my breasts were quite wide (?) and therefore he thinks I should go bigger than a D. He prefers Mentor and suggested 350-370cc High Profile. Price started at £4450 but I've managed to get it down to £3845 so far.
Mr Meleagros from Transform told me to go for overs, however, he appeared to be arguing that overs were better than unders for various reasons before he'd even seen my breasts. I got the impression he just prefers overs full stop (this put me off as I didn't think he was advising me on the best option for my body). They agreed, after negotiating, to a price of £4350 but wouldn't go any lower.
Poor customer service for another treatment at Nu Clinic put me off there. The apparent preference of overs at Transform but me off there. I was happy at MYA therefore I think I'm going with them!
My worries are how big to go - the problem is that each time I tried on a bigger implant I seemed to like it more than the last! Not sure if I'm getting a bit carried away with myself lol The last thing I want is to go too big. But I also want to make it worthwhile. Mr Kazzazi really threw me. I've heard of surgeons refusing to go as big as some ladies request, but I've never really heard of them suggesting to go bigger than requested!
The other worry is whether to go over or under. My instincts tell me under but I'm mainly worried about my breasts sitting too high or getting 'double bubble'. Can you even tell the difference between ladies or have had overs or unders??
Not really sure what I want from you guys but it sure did feel good to get it all out! My poor husband has heard about nothing else for the last few weeks but he hasn't got a clue how to help lol

Re: How do you decide???
You've gone for consulations at all big companies Hun, have you tried a spire bmi or nuffiled? These use bapas register surgeons and maybe getting another opinion and full consulatation may be of value to you.
Glad you've decided against the first clinic 3 months aftercare?!
And glad you saw that surgeon favours a placement isn't right for you .
Please see a surgeon from a spire, bmi or nuffiled or private hospital. It really will beneift you as reading your post you still feel a bit unsure x

Re: How do you decide???
I would have more consultations babe as mrsball has suggested, I wouldn't feel comfortable choosing whether to have unders or overs all the surgeons I saw were certain I needed overs and unders we're not an option they are the experts it's not for us to decide what we would prefer. I had 4 consultations and chose hospital group as I clicked with that surgeon from the offset , I think trust your instincts!! And 3 months aftercare Jesus Christ I didn't even think they could legally offer that!! xxx

Re: How do you decide???
I've got to agree with MrsB, maybe seeing a BAAPS surgeon will give you a bit more direction. You don't seem entirely convinced with mya though. Don't be afraid to go back and request another surgeon if he's suggesting bigger than you'd imagined. Maybe have a Google and look for some images of the boobs you want, rather than focusing on size. From my personal point of view, you can't trust a size. I went in after a C. I came out with a DD/E, but they suit my body. You need to find someone who wants what's right for you and your body.

Re: How do you decide???
Thanks ever so much for your points of view! I haven't even considered private clinics but will definitely look into it now.
Charlii made a really good point about it not being about a cup size but more about what looks good on my body and I think that's what made me like Mr Kazzazi. He was suggesting a bit larger than I originally said I wanted would suit my body better and was able to explain why. I *think* I preferred his honesty, like he was using his professional option to give me a better result rather than just doing what I wanted. Do you know what I mean?

Re: How do you decide???
Hi hun.
Always trust your gut taking into consideration all the facts.
I had Mr. Meleagros and I saw various surgeons in Transform and outside, incl. BAAPS. Baaps surgeon said what Mr. Meleagros recommended me. Actually 3 said the same what he said. I found him a bit blunt but he has lots of experience and I knew he was the person I wanted to operate on. I started with little breast tissue and had 100% filled implants. Happy to share my picture trail if you would like to see what I ended up like. Love my boobies :)

Re: How do you decide???
please please please do not take the 3 month aftecare and lifetime aftercare never means lifetime surgery aftercare it almost always means you can see the surgeon/nurse for life but in companies surgeons can and do move about
I needed to use my aftercare for a reop and im looking at anotehr reop so aftercare is very important
good luck xx

I'm having kazzazi on Sunday! He's very to the point and knows what will be best for your body type an he also prefers the natural look - he wouldn't let me go as big as I'd like and said 300cc max so he clearly takes into account the specific person and their body. Can't wait xxx

Re: How do you decide???
The only reason the 3 month aftercare interested me is because I'm going to be emigrating to Australia later this year so it's unlikely I'm going to fly back here at the other side of the world if I experienced a problem a year down the line. Thing is though, I couldnt help but wonder why on earth they'd only offer 3 months! Makes me think they either don't have confidence in what they do or they're not bothered about patient aftercare enough to have a longer period as standard.
Ind94 - thank you so much for replying! I had heard he prefers the natural look as well which was why MYA booked me with him in particular. I don't think I've heard of any surgeon suggesting someone should go larger (which is what surprised me) so I can only trust his professional opinion that that's what would be right for my body. I trusted what he said. Can you let me know how you get on? Also, are you having unders or overs?

Re: How do you decide???
I don't think I'm going to consider Nu as the very limited aftercare made be worry about the possible quality of surgery and the lack of commitment to their patients.
Mr Kazzazi is definitely my fave atm, it's not all about saving money afterall!
Ind94 - that is just weird!!! I'm going to Perth in September so want my BA in May to give me 3 months recovery here before we move. Did you have more than 1 consultation with him?

Re: How do you decide???
Thanks Rachelw, it's always good to hear you're not the only one. So you went with the ps recommendation to go bigger and don't regret it? It feels like the right thing to do and I feel like I trust his opinion and reasons. I'm just a worrier, so will keep on running the 'what ifs' through my mind over and over until I believe that it's ok! Think I may need to just bite the bullet and go for it.

Hun, going bigger is not always best. Please arrange an appointment with a spire, nuffiled. Or bmi or private hospital even if it's just for another opinion. You will see the difference in consultation opposed to a large clinic one
To me it sounds like you're still unconvinced , you need to find the right surgeon for you not one that will 'just do' x
