I'm flying 8 weeks post op on the day :) I can let you know how it goes but I'm sure I will be fine. I can do most things now as normal  yahoo

Also if you have travel insurance it should cover the cancellation on medical grounds. In case you need a re-op and your PS won't let you fly for example xx

I guess it depends on the insurance. Mine is with AXA and you have to declare what you have done and when. I have declared my BA and are covered :)
Always worth reading the tiny print and ring them up when needed before buying insurance xx

aw what a lovely email from your surgeon bless him.

it's natural to feel worried, pre-op jitters and all that but i think you will be absolutely fine at 8 weeks post op!

you may still feel twinges or aches, and you may still be in a sports bra depending on your surgeon's instructions, but if this is a chilled out rather than an action packed holiday you'll be totally fine.

i was out on the london underground at rush hour meeting friends for drinks (sitting down though) at 10 days post op.

ultimately though it's your decision though, if you feel like you can't deal with all of it at once, do postpone one of them xx

Hey hun, just wanted to let you know that I went to Spain 8 1/2 weeks after my op- purely because holiday was booked way before my op and my surgeon had a longer waiting list that I had expected. Like all the girls have said everyone heals differently and no one can predict complications.

Luckily I was fine, but I made sure my scars were completely covered and that I had factor 50 on my chest at all times. remember that might not have the all clear to wear wires so still may be in sports bras and that boobs may not look perfect as still healing and dropping etc.

Only you can decide what's best, hope it all works out ok xx

Hi girls does this email sound ok ?
Hi Matt,

Thank you for getting back to me about my worries about holiday... I have come to a decision that I would like to postpone my date till after my holiday, as in myself I don't think I'll feel 100% on holiday with my new assets with only being 8weeks.

Your advice was really reassuring and postponing is purely down to how I feel about the situation, kinda feels like it's not right, I want to be able to have my operation and not worry about other things ie. upcoming holidays as I feel this will make me stressed and jeopardise my recovery time.

I have contacted Sharon Day about a new date, she is going to contact you regarding this.

??  I'm crap at these stuff

Okay good that it sounds ok.. Just thought of email him explaining I didn't want him to think I'm insulting his knowledge after the long email he sent me reassuring me haha , it's purely down to my own feelings he will understand he's a lovely man xx

Yeah I know Tink ...
Had a reply of my Ps  he said Hi Amber, that's absolutely fine. I am a great believer in that you need to feel right about the procedure.

I will offer your date to another patient and will wait to hear about further dates from you or Sharon.

Have a good holiday!

Bestest wishes

.....

So now have a new date 28th August :)
