Mine were painfully tight.. I didn't get measured for them, the nurse just gave me a pair so I don't think she chose the right size for me as I felt like my blood circulation was being cut off. I was told to keep them on for the night following the day of my op. I woke up in the middle of the night, however, in severe pain with them and I had to take them off. when I managed to get them off my poor feet were bleeding and had blisters all over them.. as if I wasn't in enough pain with my boobs already haha!! Ask your surgeon or nurse how long you should keep them on for.. I think after a few hours you should be fine :) xxxx

I was recommended to keep them on for a week & was given extra pairs so i could change them, - their reason being that you're not moving around as much as normal so dvt risk is higher, I have taken them off for short spells but not finding them too bad to wear xx

I think if they're not uncomfortable or tight at all then it's good to keep them on for a few days. However, if they're tight then consider asking your nurse if you can remove them after a day xxxx

I was told that I could take mine off the next day but I did need to not just sit around and do nothing so it kept the blood circulating round my legs. Xx

Omg I didn't realise that the stockings had to be kept on a few days. I can't believe I'm just starting to find things out like this as well as there having possibilities of having Buddha belly etc!!!!! Not looking forward to keeping the socks on............. Xx

Your surgeon should have advised. I was told a week, but it was just too irritating and waaaay too hot. Hubs made me keep them on at night, and said if I wasn't moving around I had to have them on. Its to decrease the risk of DVT. If you're active through the day (little walks up and down the hallway every 30-60mins) then you should be ok with just at night, but do check with the clinic, as you don't want to void your aftercare.

What Charlii said really.. It's to stop DVT and because if you are sore and not supposed to do very much then you need them on. I was up and about a few hours after my op and even if it was just wandering the halls in the hospital or walking round the house the day after I wasn't bed bound what so ever - even with my mum looking after me and kids it is impossible hahaha! xx

Glad your improving :) and that's really good with the painkillers :)
I feel like I've never had one to be honest now... feels like forever ago... apart from my rash I have.. I'm doing fantastic :) no more pain, still struggle when required to use my chest muscles for things (went away in the caravan and using muscles to haul it on the car and such) I can feel my implant move a little which is strange but yeah - over all really well :) not on any meds for my boobs now just creams still for my rash and also because my PS told me to keep it moisturised until I next see him.. just looking forward and counting the days till he has a look and says I can wear normal bras and go shopping :)
Just you take it easy - the more you rest now the better your recovery and quicker you can get back to normal :) xx

I took my stockings off when I went to bed Saturday, so 24 hours after BA. They were making me so hot and itchy and I'm up and moving about so figured I should be ok. Xx
