Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
My drs such Kadi - you phone asking to be seen because a chest infection can't wait so then you have to wait hours for a dr to phone and ask what the symptoms are and then asked to come down and such and such a time.. sigh...
Well the GP I got was in fairy land and soooo sloooow. She congratulated me on knowing I had a chest infection, and the rest of us. I got antibiotics and then showed her my rash. She doesn't know what it is and it looks like a rash she says.... (which I would never have known if she didn't tell me :P ) she gave me some canisten cream because it may be thrush... because I tried everything else you see... that's all she can think of :/ that's left that I haven't already tried, and if it's an infection then it should clear with my antibiotics I'm on anyways... and if it doesn't i need to go see my surgeon because something is wrong apparently :/
my GP is back on Wednesday so I will defo go see him then anyways... as my mum has biopsy results to get back from him anyways so I will tag along :) he is an amazing dr who worked over in Africa and has seen and done many things and will look at it and be able to say straight away.. shame I have to wait another 2 days... sigh
xx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
Thats not good kati :-( had so many arguements at my surgery, usually with receptionists wanting to know whats wrong before they will let me see doc. ( whats it got to do with them?) Think I had steroids to clear urticaria, but def see someone else about it, constant itching gets u down doesnt it xx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
It's driving me demented, people must think I'm crazy because I'm standing on the edge trying to hard not to scratch and my body is aching to scratch it all off... :P
My GP is back on Wednesday so I will see him then and see what he says... just need to lather on the eurax and keep calm :P
Hope I don't have to go on steroids, my mum has steroid cream, and she had to go on steroids for a while but makes you put on heaps of weight... :/
Just have to hold out till Wednesday :( xx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
The GP you saw today sounded like a real brainiac NOT!
I hope the antibiotics will at least clear off the chest infection and you can cope until Wednesday. I agree with Maddimoo- steroid creams or oral (worst case) usually help with urticaria if that's what you've got.
Get well soon xxx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
*UPDATE*
Emailed my PS tonight and he got back asking lots of questions and says he hasn't got a clue but would be more than willing to see me whenever I want even though it's a long trip up - I said not much point as I see him in a weeks time anyways. Will be seeing my GP tomorrow.
Googled for a bit and found a girl with the very same looking rash after her glue had come off - turns out she needed steroid cream because she was allergic to the glue!
Will update more tomorrow after seeing my GP :) xxx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
Thanks Kadi & Lucia - it's getting really bad i want to cry... just itchy though and not sore or anything. Hoping my GP will give me some steriod cream or something tomorrow to help this go away - just paranoid that it will scar the really neat stitches that my surgeon did. He did such a good job on them and i just don't want them to ruined :( xx

I don't think the rash will scar it. Have you seen the doc yet? Xxx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
saw my GP and just ohme, it's an allergic reaction to something. I have steriod cream to put on twice a day which should help and some moisture cream to use as often as needed and also can be used as a soap. Fingers crossed it does the job :) xx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
Hopefully should do the trick girls :D
No idea and GP didn't offer any suggestions - but from my googling - i would say the glue he used... There was a girl with same round the incisions rash as me and her surgeon said it was the glue used... and reccomended the steriod cream... so at least i have the right medication for it :)
My guess would be glue as it was when all that started to peel away that it flared up... Woke up with it worse this morning almost round my belly button now... think i got my cream just in time - before i turned mutant :P
Thanks for the support girls :) xxx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
Imo if it's the glue wouldn't it have started straight away??
Was u cleaned with something before the glue came off?
When my dressings were changed i was sprayed and cleaned with medical stuff and the next day I got acne.
Not allergic but still annoying x

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
To me it looks like an allergy rash. Could even be allergic to a virus. I had a rash like that with tonsillitis but I'm not sure if chest infection is bacterial or virul. I don't think it's anything to be too worried about. Although I know it can't be pleasant xxx

Re: Itchy rash :/ incisions
Hi Kati. How is the rash doing? I hope it's on it's way out now.
You are gonna laugh now but I'm suffering from a rash too- all over the tummy. Not itchy or anything just doesn't look great.. Looks like prickly heat to me as I've been sweating a lot at work with this gorgeous sunny weather... Hoping it will clear in few days.
xx
