Swelling
Just wondering how long it takes for the initial swelling to go down. I had had a lot of swelling and today my right boob seems to be getting bigger with more swelling.
I know I am early on but is it normal for the swelling to get more a few days in?

Re: Swelling
It's absolutely completely normal, honey! :)
I did have swelling from the start but it fully kicked in about 5-7 days post-op.. My boobs felt enormous and actually became really hot and big at night haha.. they were like my own radiators keeping me warm!
It will all pass after another week, babe :) Then you'll start seeing what your boobs really look like minus all the swelling and water retention xxxx

Re: Swelling
Swelling and bruising can take a few days to fully come through, then it can take up to 4wks for it to subside completely. Steer clear of Ibruprofen, as it is also a blood thinner, until the nurse gives you the all clear for it. Ice and elevation is the best for it at the moment. This is why you're asked to sleep shoulders above heart, to help drain the fluids.

Re: Swelling
Thanks KT, I noticed some yellow bruising in between my boobs this morning (day 5). Swelling does not seem to be too bad today.
Charlii, I have used the ice packs today and it works a treat. And I have been sleeping with my head and shoulders above my heart.
Swelling is not so bad today, much more comfortable. Xx
