Hi girls - I am 11weeks post op, had the all clear from my surgeon so the past couple of weeks I have been back at my running club. I tried some push ups last week & found i was really scared / worried if my puppies would be ok?
Can anyone advise how they have got on in the gym post op please?
Thanx x x

Hi Jobo, I was the same when I did my first push up, I just started back in a 3/4 position and did only 5 1st day and judged how I felt later in day & next day, after a week of adding a couple more each day I felt confident I was ok to add them back into routine.I'm now also back using weights for bench press etc, but still very cautiously and making sure I'm aware of any discomfort.
Everyone's different but your own body will tell you if your ok, with regards to trigger twinges and aches etc.x

Hey,

I went back to the gym after twoweeks but only  did spin, then started back with my trainer (had told her beforehand I was having a ba) and soshe said if it hurts or pulling tell me and we'll do something different.

Now 4 months post op , I'm still taking it carefully but introducing clases back into my routine (pump/combat, high intensity interval training).

In pump I'm only using light weights on bar as don't want to overdo it.

Also wearing a shockabosorber sports bra to pin my boobs down as I don't want any bouncing!!!!!!

Hope this helps

I did some of my BodyPump class and avoided anything chest related until my surgeon says otherwise but I'm glad Ive been doing some exercise to keep me fit .

Hi Jobo, I was 7 weeks when I started introducing upper body again, you're the only one who will know if it feels ok for you to do it and also of course if your surgeon agrees and happy with your healing.x

Thanx for the replies girls. I'm back doing circuit classes & just said I've had an op up top so they show me less strenuous exercises to do instead. So fingers crossed all seems to be going well so far. Like you say listen to your body & I should be OK :)
