Let's get this show on the road!!!

Hi all


I've been driving my entire family mad moaning about how long I have to wait for my first consultation with Mr Hassan. So I've taken the plunge and rearranged it for Monday eeeek! It will mean going to Birmingham but it'll be worth it and my hubby will driving. 

Lots of more research and pictures consideration on the weekend. 

I know it may be the first of many meetings but I'm just happy to be starting!!

You sound just like me! ha.. Once I had managed to get hold of Jo.. I didn't want to wait for an appointment, so she managed to book me in the next day, we had to drive to Birmingham too. Otherwise I would have had to wait 3 weeks to see him!

I will certainly tell you all about it as I don't think my family can take much more lol - and there's a long, long way to go yet.

The thought of waiting another three weeks was like agony! I waited one already and that was like a lifetime

Awww its lovely that you're so excited but can I just offer a little advice...

PLEASE don't let your excitement rule your head. You may have it in your head that Mr Hassan 'is the one' but that may not necessarily be the case, so when you have your consultation please, please, please don't book immediately.

Go home... Take some time to think about the surgery plan proposed and how you felt about the whole consultation. Have a consultation with at least one other surgeon just so you have at least one other surgery plan to compare with so you KNOW with no regrets at all that you're making the right decision for you.

I let my excitement rule my head hun and its taken 4 years and 4 surgeries to make things right and for me to realise how serious this surgery actually is and how much we should put into the research 'before' booking anything and unless you give yourself that time and have at least one other consultation, you really can't say you know 'for sure'

Sorry to put a downer on your excitement babe. I am always the voice of doom here, but I assure you, its only because I care.   

Thanks Cookie great advice. No I will defo. Strongly consider everything for a long time. I know this is only the first step. I'm a real worrier in everything i do so I will really ensure whoever I choose / it is right for me. Im not a 'live for the moment' type of girl! Too many responsibilities and lessons learnt for that - also my hubby will be with me and he will help me keep it all in perspective to. Thanks for the fab words - I love a voice of reason
