Silicone scar gel
Has anyone used it?
My PS recommends that I use it from now on until 3 months mark. I've googled and they'd are lots and from £9.99 to £34.99!!
Do I buy the expensive one or are the cheaper ones as good?

Re: Silicone scar gel
Unless you suffer from extremely bad scarring or Keloid scars, its not worth it. Its the massage rather than the cream that makes the difference for the scars, and then sometimes not at all. The cream just provides the lubricant. Bio Oil and Palmers is a fave. I got THGs Tamanu balm and I love it for dry skin, makes so much difference, so it healed around the scars very quickly, but thats all. So dont fork our on pricey gels.

Re: Silicone scar gel
As Charlii has said, it's just not worth it.. as it's the massage which 'can' help the scar, not the actual cream. I never touched mine and they're virtually undetectable x

Re: Silicone scar gel
When I was at my check up on monday , the nurse said I could either use silicone gel at three weeks or BioOil but she said it didn't matter what you used as its the firm massage of the scars that improves them , not necessarily what product you're using . I'd already bought BioOil anyway to keep my newly stretched skin supple .xx
