Getting measured for the first time post BA..

This is a little embarrassing...but i'm 31 and have never been measured for a bra. I always wore a 34A before, but in all honesty could have gone without.

I've seen from others posts that Bravissimo is a good place for a first fitting. But what do i wear?? I only own Macoms, so do i rock up wearing one of those??   Would they measure me wearing a bra or topless? I'd feel a bit stupid being measured in my Macom.

You will be fine, you now have a FABULOUS pair of boobies to get measured, I remember taking my saggy little things to be measured once. I hated it. Could of cried. I can't wait to o and get nice full breasts measured.
CONGRATS how exciting for you!!!!! Remember they do this all day long, it's their job so they will make you at ease I would think and they have seen allsorts! Embrace and enjoy it!

I can't seem to switch off my self consciousness...i hated my boobs for so long. But you're right, at least i can fill a bra now! Can't wait to start getting some pretty lingerie!

You dont have to be topless. I wasnt. They ask what you're wearing, see how that fits, and toddle off. Its a fit, not a measurement. You should be fine wearing your macom. They may ask you to take your bra off, but ONLY if you're comfortable doing it. I think I recall BlueEyedSoul had this in bravissimo. But if you're not comfortable doing so, you dont have to. They will stay with you and keep coming back with different sizes until they find the right fit.

I got measured for first time ever just before my ba, I went to Boux ave and made up a story that my hubby wanted to buy me nice underwear and I wasn't sure of size after having kids. It avoided the embarrassment of not buying anything. I was so shy, but the girls made me feel really comfortable, I kept my bra on, to be honest she guessed size by looking at me, but she did use a tape to be sure.
I feel nervous again about getting measured because I want to go to Bravissmo upon all the recommendations, so it'll be another new 'outside comfort zone situation'.
MissC in 6 mnths time we'll be flashing our pups to anyone and everyone who's interested, with a whole new confidence.x

Thanks girls - it's silly the things we worry about isn't it!! I popped into Next this morning to buy some clothes for the girls, so had a quick cheeky try on.   

The largest size they had was a 34DD which fitted, although was perhaps a little snug..so i think i may be filling an E cup. They looked so much better in a proper bra...looking forward to getting properly fitted in 3 weeks  

Just been looking at the bravissimo website.....theres not one near me? Where could i go? Xx

I went to Bravissimo in Reading and they are FANTASTIC! I never wanted to get measured before so never bothered. The whole experience with them was fab. She had a look at me, left me with a catalogue whilst she dissappeared off to get some for me to try on.
She came back with lots of choice and asked if I would prefer her to step out whilst I put them on. To be honest I wasn't bothered about her seeing the new assets.

It's an amazing shop. Whilst I was there I gave them my email address and they track your purchases and once you've bought 9 bras you get one free!! Bargain.

Google 'independent lingerie shops' there's a few about and you've probably not noticed them before, having never wanted to/ needed to look for one!!

If not Debenhams is another option as they tend to fit rather than measure.x

I just turned up; only had to wait for about 5 mins. I went on 27th December so town was quite busy with the sales too.
They've got the Pepperberry shop downstairs with all their clothes and the bras and fitting service is upstairs.x

Im planning on heading to Reading too! Ive heard its wise to try and make an appointment so you're not left waiting for ages just in case they are busy.

Boux Avenue are good, Debenhams are sound. Avoid La Senza and M&S like the plague. And yes, have a google for some independant lingerie stores near you.

I do like bravissimo, dont love it though

my first experiance I called up and explained I had had a BA and needed fitted for a sports bra and the girsl on the phone basically laughed down the phone adn was like why do yuo need measured for a sports bra

anyway I put in a complaint and got vouchers off and when I told the girl at the desk when I went for my fitting i was nervous cause of this she was very nice and when I went to pay for my bras she added and extra 2 onto the system so I have now bought 7 from them when really its only 5 lol, plus I got the discount of the voucher and 10% off first buy

I have been back since and they have been lovely everytime, when I see my surgeon sat I am going to go in and get a rough size when im finished I was in 32e/f but think that Im def a cup bigger or it might be swelling still

I have use marks and spencers a few times and I have to say that they have been nothing but helpful and got me the right sizes xx

I've been measured in m&s (few days after) and again last weekend at Victoria secrets. Wore my macom x

I wore my macom to my fitting at bravisimo in solihull and just explained aboutba to the girl who was helping me.

I went to Bravissimo in Reading after my BA. I didn't make an appointment, went in on a busy Saturday and waited less than 5 mins to be seen. The lady was lovely, kept popping out to get me different bras and even helped me put them on! Also the loyalty card is a bonus x

I love bravissimo, the ladies are more than helpful and have seen a lot of augmentation boobs, you keep your bar on, they. Measure by eye, so basically see how the. Ra you are wearing is fitting and go from there, so either going up or down back sizes, and cup sizes till they find the one that fits .

I didn't mind the lady being in there when I tried them on , although they do ask if you'd prefer to change alone.

They are always Brilliant in customer service etc so wonder if their fitting service follows suit?

 Ah thanks sweets, i'm not bothered what size i end up - i'm just desperate to get out of the Macom LOL xx
