tell me i'm stupid but..
Hello again girls!
Okay, i'm just going to ask this straight away becauae a part of me thinks i'm so srupid to be thinking this but the other part is saying it's a possibility.
My surgeon took 310cc pairs and 340cc pairs in to theatre to see which would fit better.. He told me he'd put the 340cc in but because one boob is looking smaller than the other i'm starting to question whether he accidentally put 310cc in one of them and 340cc in the other.
I know i'm a paranoid freak but i guess i just want you all to tell me that this definitely couldn't happen and i'm completely wrong haha!
Thank you girls
(p.s, sorry for being a pain) xxxxx

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
its so worrying isnt it, but honestly its just all the swelling we get and that breast prob had more trauma that the other, check your card that you got that will tell you what is in each side xx

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
I know I'm still pre-op but I've seen similar questions and I'm pretty sure its just because it is two separate operations so your boobs are going to heal differently.. maybe one is just more swollen or being held more tightly at the moment? you're still really early on so I'm sure lots of things will happen to your new boobs over the next few weeks! Sorry I can't provide much help hun, I just wanted to offer my lil piece :) hope all is well though and you're feeling okay :) xx

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
alot of us seem to heal at diff rates and each side can heal at diff times, sometimes one side can have more work done to it for whatever reason then that side swells more xx

No he won't have put different ones in by mistake. Were your boobs symmetrical pre-op? if so, then the one will definitely catch up x

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
I'm unsure why one pair of implants would make a difference to you having slight asymmetry to another to be honest
I mean... If you had severe asymmetry then different sized implants would balance this out - for example the 340 in the smaller breast and the 310 in the larger to even them out.
But whether you had 310s, or 340s as a pair then this isn't going to solve any asymmetry babe. In all honesty if you have asymmetry pre-op then having a BA will magnify the difference babe so you should be aware and possibly prepared for that. Not a massive difference babe, so don't panic, but its likely it will be more noticeable.
If you didn't ever see a difference in asymmetry then take a look at your pre-op pics babe. You should be able to see it if its there...
Now... If you have asymmetry, then the smaller boob is going to be more of a struggle to get the implant squeezed in, so its very likely this breast will take a little longer to heal babe.
If your surgeon didn't discuss any asymmetry at all with you pre-BA, then maybe arrange to see them instead sweetheart to discuss this. Its very important that your surgeon goes through this with you. This should have been seen 'pre-op' in all honestly so that YOU could have made informed choices for yourself. Xx

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
I don't remember him telling me that one breast was larger than the other but i do remember him muttering that my left breast sat slightly lower than the right. It was a very minimal difference though!! Thanks, girls, i'll mention it to the nurse on Monday and see what she says. Thank you xxxx

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
Hey Toni,
I had exactly the same worries, i totally freaked out when i woke from the GA...one boob was massive and one looked tiny.
I buzzed the nurse and demanded to go back into surgery, because i had the same fear..that in the process of deciding size my PS has one 420cc in and one 460cc in. Bless her, she went and got my certificate to prove that the same size had been used on each side
My left breast suffered more trauma because i had a cyst removed, i also though afterwards that perhaps they only use the sizer on one size - which again may add more trauma. Either way, once the swelling went down they looked even.
Trust me, you aren't being silly. We all have such mixed emotions and thoughts post BA

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
Tiger i only noticed my left boob was slightly bigger than left when i took my pre ba pics, my surgeon hadn't mentioned it at consults but i was worried about it, i pointed it out on day of op and surgeon reassured me difference was so slight it would be unnoticable & i'd read on here most girls have slight assymmetry. After op my left was slightly bigger but only i could really notice it, it's same now swelling has gone down but it's only me that seems to see it, x

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
Misszc ahh that sounds just like me! I'm 20 and don't want to be massive haha :) i was a bridesmaid last year for my sister and unfortunately didn't have my boobs. It was actually at that point that i decided i wanted to go ahead with a BA. I heard my cousin whispering 'is toni the only one wearing a dress with straps because she's flat-chested?' i was heartbroken to hear that said about me. I guess i'm grateful to her for giving me that extra push to go for a BA though!!
Ahh, louise, that sounds like me then! My lefty is the tiniest bit bigger but i guess i've only just noticed it properly now because i'm examining my boobs all the time! I never examined them before because there was nothing to examine and i hated them!
Assymetry for the win haha!!
Thanks, girls xxxx

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
Hi ya, just thought I'd mention that my left was bigger than my right pre ba, my surgeon put something in my left whilst in op to see whether 260cc or 300cc better in larger left breast she opted for 300cc so had that in both, for the first wk left looked lots bigger but now they are a lot more level than they were pre op I think there was a 30cc difference in size to my natural breast, so don't worry to much as I'm sure your surgeon has opted for the best result xx

Re: tell me i'm stupid but..
Aw thank you for sharing that, May!! I guess it's normal to have slight differences in breast tissue.. After all, it's just a distribution of cells.. There's no way we can have 100% the same amount in each boob haha!
Thanks, kriz!
