Think I've done something stupid...
Hi girls,
As most of you know, I'm just under 3 weeks post op and everything was going fine,I've been getting help with lifting my son etc.... Then yesterday evening I was trying t get into a cupboard and I pushed my sons carseat out the way which got stuck and I ended up pushing it quite hard and felt something twinge on my right side, under my armpit but inside my boob...
It didn't seem too bad but then I woke up with bad morning boob on my right side this morning, then when I put my strap on it felt really tight and i couldn't take a full breath, now I've taken it off for the day and ive realised it wasnt the strap but its the same area under my armpit and I can't take a full breath in or cough without it hurting.
It's not unbearable but it's unpleasant enough to make me take a pain killer which I haven't done in over a week...
..... Do you think I've done some damage?

Ouch.. Hopefully you've just pulled the muscle & it feels weird because you're muscle's been moved to a different position in the op. Have you contacted your clinic/surgeon?

Re: Think I've done something stupid...
It does sound like you have pulled a muscle, which at this early stage is very easy to do. It may take a few weeks to get back to where you were in your healing, so I imagine all you have done is set yourself back a few weeks. If the pain gets worse or you have a lot of swelling then you will need to contact your clinic.
Re: Think I've done something stupid...
I can only concur with Corrina and misf1, I think you've pulled a muscle too
It gets more difficult as you get further through your recovery to remember that your boobs are still very much still healing inside and sometimes it takes something like thing to give us a good OUCHY reminder!!!!
Just take it easier lovely, I'm sure you'll be fine, but as has been said, any further changes, then do have your surgeon check you over xx

Do you think this will affect picking up my son? I had the all clear from 4 weeks post op to lift him again. I won't get any more help with him after this so I'll have to start lifting him again then.
Unbelievable, I get help with my son and end up hurting myself on a car seat! :(

You'll be fine as long as you're careful babe. Hold your son close to you and lift with your legs if you can sweetie taking as much pressure away from your upper body as you can. You just need to try and keep the side that you've pulled rested thats all lovely. xx

Re: Think I've done something stupid...
Sounds like you've had good advice already! I did a similar thing, pulled myself opening a draw with bed linen in it! It's definitely a wake up call isn't it?! Avoid anything you're unsure about until you get the all clear... There's been times I thought I'd manage but didn't risk it.
It's frustrating but not worth another set back! I hope you get over this little hurdle soon sunshine lady X

Don't blame yourself it's easy to try and push our limits
What does DH stand for? I always see it and never know, I realise some kind of abbreviation for your partner ... I'm guessing
I don't think he will be, and if he moans just flash a twin... It will all be worth it when they're healed! :heehee: X

Haha, I'll try that ;) he keeps asking "how are the bazookas" which I'm sure is a good sign.
I think it stands for 'darling husband' and you get DW (darling wife) DF (darling fiancé) and so on and so forth.
At least.... I think this is what it means! Will probably find out know it means d**k head or something! xx

Re: Think I've done something stupid...
Little update... Just spoke to my surgeon. You were all spot on, I've pulled a muscle and that explains the painful ribs, difficulty taking a deep breath and pain when I laugh (that one really sucks).
Good news is I just need to rest up and stop wearing my binder for a few days (yeeeeeeah!!) and I should still be able to pick up the littleun next weeks when I'm 4 weeks p.o.
Have a happy weekend all. I'm stuck indoors whilst the DH (snigger) goes and watches football xxxxx
