Similied implants
Hi girls, another question...please x I am still deciding on which type of implant. Several surgeons that are well renound and hv good reviews are using the furry brazilians but I'm still debating if thy r for me. I just called up a very highly regarded surgeons office to see what he uses. His secretary said he mostly uses the similied, I thought this was just another name for furries but she had never heard of the term so asked the nurse, the nurse said no not those. So my question is, are similied a other type or did the nurse get it wrong? There is no mentioned on his website of the furries ( or the way they work) but he does mention similied and that they are a cohesive gel?! Confused now :) xxx

Similied - is the company / brand I believe..
I also believe the furries are called pure implants / similied also ...
I stand to be corrected - apologies - i will have to go through my notes

Sorry if this confuses you even further but have just looked at the implant website and have seen that they also manufacture a textured implant. You could call them back and ask what the implant surface is if it's polyurethane they are difinately furries. XXX

Re: Similied implants
The implant I think your surgeon uses is the 'Sientra' this is Silimeds FDA approved improved implant. Xx
Re: Similied implants
Thanks girls....so the actual surgeon I was asking was the baaps president, my thought process is if he is using them then thy must be ok. Iv called back and the lady has said they are similied implants, from brazil and are the only FDA approved anatomical ones in the uk, do hv the poly coating. Soooo, am I being thick....are these the furries? Xxx

So they are, iv just had a look on the website. It's the polytech furries that are not yet FDA approved but similied are. I feel like I'm just finding obstacles all the time but I will get there in the end! X

Re: Similied implants
Hi I've had the furry brazillians they are manufactured in Brazil by a company called silimed, they also make other types of implants including textured. The different types have different names like nuance and enhance and many others. Not all surgeons use the polyurethane implants but the ones that do appear to consider them to be superior due to low cc rate and no risk of rotation in the case of anatomicals. Xx

Re: Similied implants
The PURE implant isn't FDA approved babe.
There are actually only 5 implants with FDA approval:
Allergan Natrelle
Allergan Natrelle 410
Mentor Memory Gel
Mentor Memory Shape
Silimed Sientra.
The Sientra is a polyeurothane breast implant.
I wouldn't get too hung up on FDA approval hun. Although its good to know an implant is FDA approved it isn't the be all and end all.
The FDA is just the American regulator.
Here in the UK we have the CE Kitemark and one of the leading breast implants of all are British made, have no FDA approval in the states and yet are considered a top quality premium range implant called Nagor Impleo.
There are many other breast implants that are also not FDA approved but are of an excellent quality and standard.
The PURE implant seems to be climbing high in terms of use by BAAPS surgeons and these surgeons will only ever use the best implants they can, previously the sung Nagor as their preference, but rapidly being replaced by the PURE.
They're a very good, safe implant msc, no, they aren't FDA approved, but you have no need to worry about them at all. Xx
