So I've just sat on my bed crying my eyes out I'm in so much pain I'm resting but when I need to get up I feel so stiff and can barely move. My worst pain is my stomach muscles and it looks so fat and swollen. I actually look pregnant it's horrid hissy

Keep your chin up sweetie, the 'budda belly' is quite common and it can last a week or so but it does go down I promise.  I was one of the lucky ones I didn't have a massive amount of pain except from the evil that was my strapping that I had for a week! It's very new for you at the moment honey, I remember the first week for me was by far the most emotional.

It will SO SO SO be worth it in the end though babe, I promise :ok: xx

You're not at all disgusting Lydia Hug

You're fresh out of surgery, you're uncomfortable, bloated, swollen and feeling crappy and the booby blues have kicked in and its all just gotten a little bit too much for you right now... But you know what Lydia - tomorrow's another day and you may not feel fantastic tomorrow, but each day is going to get just that little bit better and after this first week, most ladies hit that corner and feel so much better. So hang in there hun. Be sure you playing your part in getting yourself up and having a little gentle walk when you can during the day and resting as much as your body needs. Find things to do to keep your mind off things and ICE PACKS are marvelous! So get those on your boobs and they'll help to bring so much relief.

Don't be worry about your belly right now. It doesn't matter - your recovery does. So put that first right now Lydia and focus on how your going to look when you've gone through this healing babe. Your belly will take care of itself and will go back to normal with no need to be doing anything if worrying about that, so forget that babe. It needs no attention.

Your mums there to help take good care of you, so maybe tomorrow watch some DVDs together or something... Anything to make you think of things other than your recovery.

But its important for you to know when you're feeling so down as you are right now Lydia that you WILL be OK. Many of us have sat where you are now and we've ALL come through feeling great, just as you will babes Hug

Thank you everyone you've all cheered me up, I know it's just getting through this stage at the minute. Thank you for the advice cookie I'll definitely have a DVD day tomorrow I still feel a bit funny off all these meds and that must be why my stomach is so bloated (which it's never looked like this before) that's why I was so worried.  Need lots of Ice packs and something for my neck because it really hurts trying to sleep propped up right! Aww your tummy will feel better soon. The meds really do mess you up. But it really does only last a few days and you will be feeling great with awesome boobs soon! How about having a look at your old bras to cheer you up as there is no way you would get your boobs into them now! Or do a bit or retail therapy online... If you get a travel pillow for your neck it really helps when you're propped up xx

Burst into tears Empty Re: Burst into tears

Post by COOKIE 2nd December 2013, 8:39 am

When you're told to be 'propped up' Lydia, you don't have to be 'sat up' babe. All that's needed to help with the swelling is for your head and shoulders to be raised higher than your chest. So one or two pillows, whichever you're most comfortable with along with your V pillow is all that's needed babe. To add to further comfort if you pop a pillow under each arm this will help support your arms too so you're kinda like sat in an armchair. Then pop a pillow under your knees to help take strain away from your back and to stop you sliding down the bed and lastly, a rolled towel placed in the small of your back will help take strain from your back also.

Using some heat on your neck today will help with the pain you have there, so a hot water bottle or a wheat bag that heats in the microwave is perfect.

As soon as you feel able it's really in your best interests to come off the heavy pain meds and just use paracetamol for any pain you may have. Maybe try dropping them during the day at first and just taking at night to secure a good sleep for yourself, but again, when you feel you can do without them it's best to drop those lovely and you really will start feeling much better in yourself.

Hoping things get better very soon for you Lydia. Xx

Don't worry about upsetting anyone babe. You worry about you and know that we're here for you Hug

If anyone else does have concerns, they can express those themselves and we're there for them also. But please don't feel you need to suppress how you're feeling because you're worrying about other sweetheart.... The best way to get through this is to talk sweetie and hopefully gain some reassurance.

You'll be OK, just as every other woman after you will be too Hug xx

Oh no, please don't worry! Hug
My last baby was a 9 pound baby hippo...gorgeous, but a hippo none the less!

Just as everyones experience of childbirth is different, so are our Ops. I'm hoping my BA will be less painful than my labour, but hey ho...i got through that just fine anyway :0)

You post away darling, i'm sorry you are feeling rotten but you will be reassuring other girls who are maybe worrying when their BA is more painful than expected. I hope you feel a little better today, just focus on what a lovely Xmas you will have once you're healed with your gorgeous boobies xxx

Aw Lydia, come here sweetheart for a cuddle. I absolutely respect all the girls on here who speak from their heart. I think as a pre baer it's so important to keep it real and prepare yourself for the good and bad. Babes trust me you are actually helping me stay sane, as I'm able to recognise every emotion I feel each day as normal.
Today my thoughts are on dying during surgery, but I know it's such a normal thought to be having as so many girls have expressed same thought few days before op, whereas if I hadn't read that I actually could scare myself out of it completely.
Each day is a new day and another step closer to you getting you back, but a newer gorgeous boobie version.xxx
