Getting my boobs measured

So sad but I'm so excited to go and get measured today to see what my actually bra size is without BA ! Even though I'm 21 I've never known what bra size I actually am... My mum has always bought my bras for me & when I've bought them, I've just guessed ! Hysterical

Thanks to Cookies post yesterday this has encouraged me to do so , I may be able to work out a rough estimate at how big my implants will take me to, too!

I'm quite small under my bust, I think the doc at transform measured me as a twenty something but when I measured my self I was 30... Soooo I'm not too sure !! Xx

Its good you're getting fitted babe. My daughter is 21 too and its the first time for her as well lol.

I just think 'knowing' your starting size after being fitted not only helps when getting sportsbra so you know your band size (all support comes from the band) but it also puts cup sizes into perspective.

No-one would look at my daughter and think she had DDs, she's a small busted girl, very slight in frame and tiny, but just hearing that she was a DD had a jumping around the changing room lol. But yes.... It will help with sizing Boney, although I don't size should ever be discussed with a surgeon and its always the look you want that should be focused on. Xx

Hmm I've just been and looked at me, felt around my back (topless) but still with my bra on and said... 32 or 34 and when I asked my cup size she said either c or D depending what bra!!? I could have told her that? Ste said he will help me measure properly tonight and get guidelines for the cup measurements off google. I know it won't be exact but it'll be rough guide.

Yes Cookie defo agree with you with you there... I have showed Dr. A photo of what I'd like and described it great detail ha ha , sizing is just a rough estimate for me xxxx

Where did you get measured if you dont mind me asking? Because (based on avi only) I wouldnt have put you at a 34! If you're physically measuring 30" underbust, then you should be a 30/32. I measure 31" and wear a 32.

No, I'm certainly not a 34 I'm border line 20/ 30.. But she just looked at me only no measurements were taken! Very confused as she was recommended to me by a pal. She's apparently very good etc... It's called body talk, it's her own business. Just a small shop in my town centre xx

Hmm...I know Bravissimo do it by sight only...but that seems off! Not that Im doubting it in any way!

If you are going to measure yourself at home, I know there was quite a good link that 5ST had up a while ago...the gist of it was with a fabric tape measure, measure around under the bust, and then take the fullest measurement whilst bending forward. Then use that difference to calculate the cup. But thats never going to be as accurate as trying bras on, just a guide. (tho it got mine spot on at a post op 32E!)

It's not by sight as such Hun, at bravissimo they'll ask you what you're currently wearing and then go from there.

They check it's fitting correctly and will get diffrent sizes to try on and see which one best fits Hun.
For example I was in a 30ff after my 2nd ba however the band was too big and cup too small finally fitted in a 28g and again after 3rd 28GG BORDERING 28H

The fittings I've had have been as mrsball explained.

I take off top outer clothing leaving on my bra, they ask my current bra size...then the fitter comes in and checks the bra I'm wearing. The band is checked to see which clasp its on and how loose/tight it is by running their fingers underneath, then they'll look at the cups and check the straps and check for gaping or bulging, they'll then use their initiative and bring in a few sized bras for me to try and it may take a few (this was on my first fitting) to find the right fit, but they should give you the time to go through it until you do get the right fit. Xx

Sorry, yes, I should have explained better! Its not just by sight, like some carnival trick Barney has on How I Met Your Mother!! By sight as in, without tape measures and just seeing how the fit is.
