getting measured

When you go to a shop to get measured, is it bare boobs? It's bad enough getting them out for the surgeon

No hun, not at all.

If you arrange a 'fitting' you'll be asked to remove your top and to leave the bra you have on, on.

They run their fingers under the band and stand back and take a look at the cups of the bra your in, just checking for any gaping of the fabric or your boobs budging over the sides.

They'll then bring you a variety of bras to try on. They may be different sizes, they may be different makes.

As you try each bra on the fitter will again go through the process checking the bra to see what size fit and what makes fit you best.

Discretion is used at all times to ensure you don't feel any embarrassment and to make it a nice experience.

I'd advise for your first fitting calling ahead and arranging a fitting at Bravissimo.

If you haven't got a Bravissimo close then google lingerie shops in your area. The lingerie specialist shops are by far better than the big stores.

But as a last resort Debenhams aren't too bad and their 'Gorgeous' range is really pretty. Xx

No you're still in your bra they will for you into a bra just by looking at bravissimo, it's up to you whether you want the fitter to leave or not whilst you put the bra on. X

Great! Be sure to call the week before to arrange an appointment for your fitting. You have all their attention on you then instead of having a fitter running between yourself and other ladies who don't have appointments  

I'm pre BA but have been measured at marks and Spencer's and la sends before, both of which I've found out on this forum are useless which to be honest I have to agree with, esp m&s! But after my BA I'm also planning to go to Brighton bravissimo and make a day of it! :) xx

I love shopping in Brighton it's a full day affair for me.  Can't wait to make that appointment in 8 weeks!!

Boux avenue I found before ba did a really good bra fitting takes an hour with them being measured trying on all the different ba types to see which u like and which one fits better x

OMG this couldn't be anymore perfect for me, I have a girly trip in brighton in september, so shall be definately booking an appt at bravissimo! 
I am so glad to get all these snippets of information, i to have never been fitted, so is good to know the info and that you not having to get naked!

It's in the North Lanes specialkj.  I have never been measured either, I was always too embarrassed thinking it was a boobs out job :)

I have never been measured through sheer embarrassment of my non existent boobies. And never buy pretty bras as have to wear only certain padded bras.
This whole measuring thing is so utterly exciting xxx

is bravissimo only suitable for d plus? Or all sizes?
How many weeks post op do you tend to get measured?

It says D to L on their website, L????? I didn't even know that was a bra size lol

Yer I think they only do bras from a D cup upwards but many girls here have gone there feeling like they won't be big enough and are :) xx

I'm a bit worried about getting measured I'm seven weeks now and haven't ventured near anywhere! Worried I might not even be a d cup so don't want to look silly going into a nice shop only to be turned away. I've tried measuring myself and came out as an AA cup hence the worry!!! Xx

Happy1day you are definitely a D cup at least! Those self measuring things are so useless so just ignore them! You look great in your avi and I'm sure once you've been measured your be surprised :D xx

Happy1day, I was coming up as a 36AA from the home measurement. Im now sitting much more comfortably in a 32D sports bra, and for wires it'll probably be a DD! At least until the fluff fairy comes, then who knows, they might fluff into an E for Enormous bangers!! Its made me feel so much better, I would thoroughly reccommend getting out there. And trust me, theres NO WAY those arent at least a D!!

No way are you less than a D Happy! those self measuring things are useless. They told me I'm a 32A

You are most certainly over a d!! Especially having 410cc overs! 

Them self measuring things come out a a 34b for me!!!!
